Just curious if anyone has tried Marstar's AR bits and pieces.

More specifically, I wanted anyone try the 4 position and/or 6 position AR stocks available here as follows

How sturdy are they? How comparable to your basic adjustable stock as found on your AR?

Are they commercial sized?

I'm a 'you get what you pay for' kind of guy but want a basic, strong AR stock for an adaptor to fit onto an 870 (I'm not about to put on a CTR on a truck gun :p )

No problems with them. At $60 a good value. The more expensive type are kind of expensive for a Leapers product when about the same price gets you a name brand. If you are getting one for a shotgun, the Knoxx stock is way better.

Indeed I noticed the major step up in price from the rather reasonable 4position one to the 6 position stock(which costs as much as any name brand item).

Part of my question should have been who made these stocks..and I suppose Leapers as you answered.

The Knoxx stock spec ops was something I did indeed consider getting and it very reasonable in price. I do however already have an adaptor and spare AR grip however.

REAPER;
"Leapers= cheap knock off, buyer beware"

Obviously you must have extensive personal experience with the Leaper line of products, since we sell thousands of their products every year I am most anxious to hear your comments....

Has Marstar and our many clients missed something here ??

John

I've run a Leapers 4 position on a lower for years - zero malfunctions. I don't know about the 6 position but I'd venture it is as good. The problem I have with Leapers is not getting enough.

I would buy the new folding foregrip, BTW, and the longer 12 inch rail, if the price is right. Green buttpad for 4 position and detachable front sight.

Anyone have experience with the Ace stocks?:

Pricewise this seems competitive with the Leapers. Is the ACE substantially stronger?

No I don't have any experience with Leapers/UTG as I actually use the accessories I purchase on my service weapon and have to trust my life with them.
I have seen enough Leaper scopes and rings fail on the range to know that the quality is poor at best, so you can keep on selling them to thousands of folks if you want but I would rather pay for quality any day..

Cheers

"I am a soldier and I won't use it" carries about as much weight as me saying as was a soldier and I use it.

But the consumer can buy what they want and in every product line some things are better than others.

"Everything is made in the same place, Taiwan, China ETC...."

My 6Pos is Israeli. This is an example of the Leapers 6Pos being the same price as the Questar unit, but the Israeli stock came with battery holder and integral buttpad.

It's true about everything is made in the same spot. Filters from Benz work truck, They don't say made in Germany, said Made in Taiwan and they are still $$$

I was asked for my experience with the stock and my comments so there they are. I use the kit I buy for more than decoration or on the occasional Saturday plinking at the range. The Leapers line of equipment (all of it) is simply not up to the standards I require for both work and training.

In a given situation, I and just about any sane person would likely choose the best kit available and suitable for one's needs(for given tasks and responsibilities)

On a service rifle I want something strong and comfortable to use.

On a truck shotgun(or say camp gun or whichever), I want something strong, likely basic and care-free. For all intent and purposes, a regular synthetic stock would do....however having an AR grip and collaspsible stock makes for all the better.

Johnone, can you confirm that both stocks are in fact Leapers?

Anyone apart from Deckard use the 4 position and/or 6 position? Have you put it through it's butts without fail?

ACE stocks are pretty sweet for reasonable money.

Not quite on topic but just wanted to correct the above statement for what its worth I work on MB Diesel engines for a living in on hwy vehicles & never saw a genuine MB filter made in Taiwan . There mostly made in Brazil

If you want to put together a cheapie plinker, Asian-made garbage is perfect because it works. People that are a little more aware avoid it like the plague.

everyone has their opinions on what they want, but no one has mentioned witnessing a failure with any of the abovementioned products, so i ask, has anyone heard of, or seen a comparison test between the cheaper and pricier kit?
perhaps regarding build materials and structural design?
basically, are the magpul's and vltor's better because they are stronger & more ergonomic or is it because they are advertised in the military mags and that is why so many mil types prefer them?
btw, i have never used any of these stocks, as i've never even fired an AR, but i do want one for my 870.

For a shotgun I am going Knoxx. They are built like a tank with very thick plastic. Plus, depending on the model, there is a recoil absorbing spring in the pistol grip and/or stock. Watch their site's videos.

i do like those, but i also really like the unit offered by badboybeeson, with the full length rail, but it requires a stock and grip, which definately runs the cost up:(

I just love all the opinions by people who don't have the product. Just because you have had a bad experience with a scope does not mean the stocks are crap. I have both a brand name and a Marstar stock and the only difference is price.
