.308/6.5CM/6.5x55/7x57/7-08 For moose

None are good, need a magnum something, if it ain’t a magnum your moose will walk away!

There was a recent thread about moose with 6.5 creedmoor, seems to do the job with proper ammo.

Sako also makes a 156grain round with moose pictured on the box.

In order of preference, if that's what I had to choose from:

.308 with a 180 gr bullet. If a .30/06 will kill a moose, so will a .308.
7x57 with a 160 or 175 gr, preferably Partition.
7-08, same as above, but less suitable for heavy bullet IMO.
6.5x55, 140 gr & up
6.5 CM, as above.

7o8 and 6.5CM have worked well on bull moose for us the last few years. Elk fall over quickly as well.

I'd happily hunt with any on your list. It's more about the rifle that the chambering, within limits of course.

Use a heavy for caliber bullet in any of them, and you will never know which one you are using if you judge only by the effect on a moose.
