Red dot optic for a 22LR semi?

I have a TRS25 on a Marlin 795. Works like a charm and with 25 round mags....man is it ever fun with a steel target gallery! Highly recommend.

I've got an el cheapo Tasco on my 10/22TD. Works great for my purpose - tractor gun. Minute of skunk. I use cheap batteries because of sometimes forgetting to turn it off. Of course, since I put in a cheap battery, I always remember to turn it off! I have a couple extras in the TD case.

When was the last time you cleaned your glasses ? I don't wear any and my $50 dot looks fine . . .
#17 & 18 - Have another drink & g'nite

Jeez been wearing glasses for 20 years, how I never thought to clean them...Really, telling us we need a new drink? I think you need some water to sober up as you're making no ####ing sense. How embarrassing.

There's a predictable pattern of behaviour with this one. Common thread of taking a dump on others. When faced with a retort, he signs off immediately with his passive aggressive goodbye.
Sunray's evil half brother?

I am thinking he's kind of special.

Could be Sunray evil half brother. As Sunray never replied back to his own posts, or defended what he said, or was really hostile.

But I have various types of RDS, some better than the other, some more effected by my agisistism. Guess I should spend thousands on implants and STFU.

I'm just shocked with the 30mm tube ones how clear they are. Do I recomend them over my Vortex, Nikon, Riton? Nope..

P.S.. I was 5 beers in after spending 6 hours being tattooed. And I still made sense.

Lol. You have a good day sir.
Clearly you can communicate in a normal manner.
Cheers

I had exactly same question as yours recently after purchasing a Ruger Mark IV tactical for my daughter.
Initially I was looking at something like Vortex Venom because it's compact size and comes with picatinny rail mount. And then I was introduced to Holosun 508 or even 509 series because they are just nice, double reticle and solar powered, however expensive and no rail mount.
I went to a store and saw aimpoint micro and instantly liked it again because of its compact size and rail mount.
However, I ended up with a $200 Bushnell. It's a little bit larger than Aimpoint but with half price only.

I and my daughter have been shooting this gun for at least 500 rounds and the Bushnell works perfectly. It's not the latest and ###iest toy but $200 on a .22LR is more than enough in my opinion. There is no need to go crazy with Trijicon or Holosun which usually starts with 500 or 600.
This is a picture how it looks at the brightest set of Bushnell First Strike 2.0
The picture doesn't do its justice, it may look blurry to you but it's really not. It's really difficult to holding a phone taking a picture through the window.
Besides, lowering the brightness makes the dot smaller and less blurry.

Hey guys-hoping to mix it up a bit this spring, move away from the bench/heavy bags..and try some reactive targets/steel etc. I may also be ready to buy/try a red dot that isn't a blurry POS. :)

I see lots to like about the Holosun brand, but also like the size of something like an Aimpoint Micro. I think I prefer a circle/dot reticle (or the option) and the Holosun HS512C seems to have every feature I want...except it's size seems less appealing on a light-weight 22. Would like to be around $500, open to new or used, a bit nervous I wouldn't be able to recognize a fake. (lack of experience with these sights)

Open to ideas, would love to see some photos of what you're using and why you like it.

Looking forward to being educated!

thanks.

im just jumping back in here for a second if you are leaning toward TRS-25

The Vortex crossfire is $10 more and has a lifetime no hassle warrantee.

Not knocking the Trs-25 but for $10 I switched.

Both Bushnell TRS25 and Vortex Crossfire are too big for a .22LR pistol to my taste.
I personally don't like those cylinder shape of red dot on any of my pistols. I think they are made for AR style rifles.

I don't think many would disagree with that, but I didn't see the OP mention pistols?

Agreed - There's no way I would pay regular retail for the TRS25, they're often on sale much cheaper.

But now I'm interested - Anyone have side by side comparisons of the TRS25 vs Crossfire red dot?

I have the Crossfire on my new T97. Worth noting is the fact that it has a 2 MOA dot and the TRS is 3 MOA. It might make a difference (on longer shots) for gopher shooting ... plus there's that warranty ...
