Ok enough! Where do I buy Brennekes?

I know the grizzly defense threads have gotten old. I pack a pump action shot gun when I head out with my bow and after a lot of practice with it and only finding foster slugs at the local stores I've decided that if I can't find a place to buy some decent slugs then I'm going to buy a .444 or a .45/70GG and get rid of my Mossberg.

Can I mail order them from somewhere? Are they actually available in Calgary and I just don't know where to look?

Didn't even think to try the Shooting Edge. I only stop there to use the range a couple of times a year at best. I'll give them a call later this week and see. Wish they would bring their membership price more in line with what they offer. The 50 yard rifle bay doesn't seem to be worth the $450 a year to use. If it was 100 yards I'd be a member, then I'd get the nice discount on ammunition purchases.
 
Got my last double handful (original Brenneke + Sellier& Bellot) from Phoenix Range in Edchuk!

Really tho, you might have truble finding them in the 8ga size suitable for grizzlys!

Actually what I would consider ideal would be 16 or 20ga, 3" chamber pump action with a 14" rifled barrel and a decently weighted synthetic stock. Preferably in a Mariner 500 model without the door breeching end on it. Oh and it should have the safety found on the Maverick88.

Of course since this isn't available, I guess I could settle for the 14" barreled over/under with pistol grip in 8 ga :evil:
 
Here's what I've found out. The Shooting Edge doesn't carry them. Wholesale Sports doesn't carry them and I don't think they even knew what I was talking about. Italian Sporting Goods was closed today for inventory.

Accuracy Plus brings them in regularly but were out of stock at them moment. But he said he'd get some in for me on Friday or early next week depending on the supplier and ship them out. Ordered 10 boxes since I don't think I'll ever find them locally. Figure that will be enough to get some practice and maybe even do a range report for those who want to know.
 
Called them. They don't carry them. Asked if they could bring some in and was told "I would seriously doubt we could even get them in." I didn't try Pro-Line shooters either but I know they don't have them on their shelf. They did have Fiocchi 22 ammunition at one time though and might be able to get Brenneke style slug they offer. I could check with them on that but I have a strong suspicion that I already know the answer to that.
 
Well just to be sure I called Pro-Line and he doesn't carry them. He wasn't sure where you'd even order some but that's besides the point, least they are always helpful with suggestions when they don't carry what you are looking for.

Just a heads up-talked to Accuracy Plus and they will be placing an order for Brennekes Tues or Wed next week. Ordered 5 boxes for myself to try out. karl
 
have you tried the challenger slugs they work as well as the brennke if not better out of my guns and cheaper to,the police used to use them and can shoot through engine blocks,I use them on black bear and it piles them up .good luck in your search
 
Wonder when they will have them then. They told me they would likely be shipping them Tuesday at the latest. Anyways asked them to let me know what the total was before they shipped them. Seemed like a nice guy, just hope it's not one of those things that a store orders, then sends 3 months later when they get them in.
