Garand Thumb - SKS

It was obvious, to some more than others apparently, that he meant unfired since refurbed...or refinished as he calls it.

I'm not a psychic. I can only go by his exact words:
"Now this is a Russian SKS that was unfired when it came into the country":

uttered here:

https://youtu.be/OmgzsdW3zjI?t=104

He also refers to the rifle as "pristine". Does that also mean "refurbished"?

Also refinish and refurbish aren't the same thing. Refinish likely refers to the finish on the stock, as no shellac finish would remain in such remarkable condition for 70 years without at least one "refinish".

You don't have to be psychic to interpret and deduce intentions. Those who are unable to do that simply just decipher everything in literal terms, as you've shown us here.

He's clearly using refinish as an interchangeable term with refurb, although incorrect... and yes it would and could have been unfired since coming into the country because Russian guns are refurbed in....Russia LOL.

He doesn't say unfired since coming into the country.

He says: "unfired when it came into the country"

Watch the clip yourself. It starts at 1:44

You don't have to be a psychic to know that there's a huge difference between those two words-- since and when. Laff

Keep splitting hairs Captain literal. All it does is make your claims more desperate sounding. It's a free video. Enjoy it. Dont be THAT guy.

When I level up to ESP/expert mind reader, I'll do as you have done and leave the meanings of words behind. Until then, I'll have to stick with the actual meanings of words in the English language.

Despite it's illustrious description, having the powers of deduction is not a mythical superhero trait. Lol. It's an advanced cognitive ability reserved for those without closed minds and that have a generally more expansive understanding of peer to peer interaction and communication. Don't worry, you'll get there!

For surplus collectors, inccuracy of terminology can result in hundreds to thousands of dollars of difference in prices paid.

No need to get your feelings hurt on Garand Thumb's behalf.

In addition to resident psychic are you also self-appointed hall monitor?

Should have known the main motivator for you is money. Fits your profile. Oh and I don't have any feelings...Feelings getting hurt are for armchair cynics who criticize and nitpick free content while sitting in their pajamas at home like some sort of military surplus poindexter,

Money is by no means a motivator for me. But not getting ripped off is a good idea for everyone. Not all who collect are keen to what traits to look look for and which to avoid-- and where and when best to spill or not spill their cash.

So it's good practice to point out inaccuracies-- for newbs and old timers alike-- who maybe aren't as smart as you tell yourself are.

You're like a dog with a bone, a virtue signaling dog that is. How Noble of you! Saying you're doing it for others when you're really doing it for your own personal satisfaction. Not about money lol yeah keep telling yourself that.

I own nearly 50 firearms. And I guarantee that I overpaid for most of them. So, yeah, it's not about money.

Do you get this triggered by innocuous online comments on a regular basis? If so, it might be a good idea to log off and get outside.

I just took the dogs for a two mile walk.

Like a dog with a bone... lonely, hungry, desperate and just won't let go...

I joined the thread to comment on the video shared by the OP. As I stated in my initial reply, "cool vid". Despite numerous inaccuracies, I enjoy Garand Thumb's enthusiam, as well as any video where someone shoots a 70 year old surplus rifle and bayonets the silhouette of famous ####star. What's not to enjoy?

Apparently you came here to get offended by an innocuous observation. And by all estimates, it looks like you succeeded.

If you have anything to say about the video, I'll be more than happy to let your tantrum lapse and get back on topic.
