Do you take all your rifles hunting? Collect some?

Back in the day I collected and inherited numerous rifles, for which I enjoyed working up handloads and taking to the range. Each has its own file, including load data and targets. Seldom do I hunt with them but enjoy taking
‘em to the range. Examples are a Deluxe sako 6.5x55 l671, a Rigby .275 that is over 100 years old, finnwolf .308.. brno 22 7x57, .35 Remington model 8 etc. - the list goes on.
Ive gravitated to certain go to rifles depending in the game and terrain, but although these aren't part of that circle they’re still appreciated for what they are.

Would be a shame to let a real rigby 275 rot in a safe without stretching its legs once and awhile. Those were sporting rifles made in the golden years of hunting. Have any pics?

I have a nice No.4 MkII in .303 made up by a skilled machinist who I remember from my boyhood years, and which my father carried on our only hunt together. My hunting experience flourished on the Prairies after many years away from home, and I invited him to come for a whitetail hunt. I now have that rifle. And, yes, I'll likely carry it to the woods on a future hunt.

I have used every rifle I have owned on hunts from the Westcoast to northern B.C and Alberta. I have used every shotgun I have had for grouse and most for duck hunting as well. I have a few rifles that are above the cost most are willing to spend, I'm not rich by no means but those guns have gotten blood on them.

All my rifles and shot guns are used for hunting in any conditions!! But I try to really take good care of them!

Had some pretty rifles. Took one as a backup rifle, allowed the boyfriend of a cousin to use it. In half an hour, he damaged it too 1/3 it's value. Sold all my safe queens. Still have some nice items, but they have to come to me with a mark or two below museum quality. Everything gets used, or rather because of my quantity.....can be used.

Very nice guns, especially the rigby

I have only had one gun that I thought was “too nice” for hunting. Honestly if I still had it I would probably take it out, what else is a nice rifle for? My tastes are a bit more utilitarian now.

I’m weird and I like a nice straight grain, the fancy grade wood doesn’t do much for me.

Ill hunt with any and all guns i own. Given a certain type of hunting has to be geared to the gun. Even my nicest rifle has been out for a 2 week back pack hunt. Earned a few scratches but i bought it to use it. My plan for when my house is paid off is a pair of custom rifles. One in 275 rigby and one in 375 rimless nitro express. Plus another double rifle. They will become my 3 main hunting rifles. Whats the point of having nice things if you never enjoy using them
