although at $644 its still a very good deal for a stainless CRF Mauser style Ruger action with Ruger rings.

anyone have any idea why prices are going up? the Can -> US dollar only dropped a couple cents, certainly not enough to account for price increases. ive noticed several price increases at SIR -- can anyone speculate as to whether it due to the Cabelas buyout, new import regulations, dropping dollar... or?

what is your problem?

someone just messaged me based on my recommendation of the $599 Ruger Hawkeye in another thread as to where i got my price, and when getting him the SIR link i noticed the price went up. i thought perhaps people planning a purchase might want to know.

would you rather i start another .308 vs .30-06 thread?

The $599 may have been a seasonal sale price. Boxing week is over, prices go back to normal. Also, maybe the manufacturers price went up.

its been at $599 for months now, i think.
ah well, its still $100 less than LeBaron is offering it for... guess they realised they were selling them too cheap.

i noticed some of their Savage and Marlin prices seem to have gone up too, at least from what i recall the last time i looked.

I vote for the 308.....

I seen some of their rimfire prices are up also..... Maybe they were to eager on their price drops a couple of months back....

it's likely all of the above. their general operating costs have to be covered in their markup. after that is gross profit. after taxes is net profit or about $1.00 for every $1000.00 to $1200.00 in gross sales.

Do whatever you like. It's not important to me.;)

I just walked in to tb's store and scored a Stevens for $200. :dancingbanana: At prices like that I'm done with mail order.

Great deal!

Myself and River Rat are just leaving Watson Lake, and will be on our way down Hwy 37 right in less than ten minutes. Should be there by the time they open tomorrow.

They won't last long at that price! :runaway:
