CZ Bren 2 MS in stock

Others were suggesting that if it was imported as a pistol, it would forever be considered a pistol in the RCMP's eyes. I'm not sure if that's true, but if not you'd still need an 18.5 inch barrel to register it as NR. I'll be waiting to see if those become available.

Oh this same thing happened last year, but back then it was classified as a restricted pistol on the FRT and even then, they deleted the FRT just a few hours later.

This time it's non restricted and classified as a rifle! Even if this pistol version IRG is selling cannot be converted, this classification is all we needed to bring in the real deal. Huge W assuming they don't pull it like they did last year..

Who cares about the shop link, I'm talking about the FRT, it's classified as a rifle. Meaning we should be able to convert it to NR, no?

That is not how it all together works. Close but no.

If it is imported as a pistol, NR rifle here or not it will be imported and classed as a pistol period
It need to come in as a carbine/rifle then it could be made NR.
It clearly isn't a rifle. Even the description of it says PIST or PST or on either manufacturer website PISTOL

Any new gun is a win but zero rifle or carbine is being advertised so far

It is 100% true. If imported as a pistol into Canada, it would always be a pistol. You could put a 48in barrel & rifle stock on it, and it would just be a pistol with a stock & 48in barrel.

Yes, very simple to understand that or ALL PISTOLS in canada could be made NR. Not a chance unfortunately

Now I'm totally confused lol.

Irun is showing the FRT.
The FRT is showing rifle, no handgun.

Now we gotta see all the child entries on the FRT to see if the US "pistol" version is listed as rifle under barrel length.

Doesn't matter anyway, the FRT says it's non restricted and a rifle, so why would anyone go through the hassle of bringing in the restricted pistol version anyway. I initially thought we had a restricted FRT like the one it was given last year (and then promptly deleted just hours later)

I dont think you still get it but...
Anyone who doesn't care about classification or doesn't mind shooting st the range with it would buy this then. Other then that it is a pustol and will always be no matter what the FaRT says and it doesn't mean EVERY version is a rifle/NR.

Depends on how it enters the country.

Buy one and prove me wrong then

If Irun doesn't chime in soon I'm gonna find one at an FFL dealer for them lol.
I've been waiting years for one of these!

you're talking about this pistol IRG is selling. I'm talking about the actual rifle platform that is now legal in Canada, I'm not talking about these pistols IRG has listed.

Last year this gun was given an FRT, but only as a restricted pistol. Back then we had no choice but to buy these, and even then, they quickly deleted the FRT before anyone could buy them. This time around, we are given an NR FR. These pistols are not needed, a conversion is not needed. That's what I'm celebrating.

:eyeroll: more then well aware of what the "last frt"said but again we shoukd be celebrating ANY and ALL new pistols/rifles/dildos allowed in the country period

From Reddit:

This is on the live FRT, it is not on Armalytics yet. They'll probably get this in a week or so when the RCMP do their next PDF release.

FRT entry lists the following barrel lengths:

Restricted: 279mm, 419mm

Non-Restricted: 476mm.

And the following calibres: 5.56/.223 and 7.62x39.

Unfortunate reality is that restricted firearms are not really yours. The RCMP own them, they're just letting you hold it until Trudeau decides to take it.

Non restricted rifles, on the other hand, are truly worth celebrating. Last years FRT was bogus. This years frt is the real deal, we couldn't have asked for a better outcome if we wanted. I'm actually shocked, I didn't think they would do this.

So why would IRG is selling the pistol version using non restricted NRT one? I don’t understand

But I want the non restricted one. Cash is ready.

There's a big confusion because this exact same thing happened last year, except we were given a restricted pistol FRT back then. We had no choice but to buy these pistols, but even then the FRT was deleted just a few hours later.

Many people are assuming the same thing is happening since IRG has pistols listed for sale. Except this time around, we are given a Non restricted FRT. We don't need to buy pistols or convert them anymore! I'm just hoping they don't delete it again.

Lol.
IRG isn't selling then cuz they are our only option then or now. Theu are selling them cuz they have them instock and for sale NOW. Be it a pistol version or not. Seems several in this thread already said they have ordered so they don't seem to care or not if it is restricted and range bound only or not.
Having a choice is a good thing. I love short barrel rifles but I also love the choice of making it NR or not.
A pistol tho will always be a pistol
