Hey guys,
I'm writing this as information to anyone looking to buy any universal parts from Brownells which could be used on an AR-15 or variant of an AR-15. I had ordered an Ace Skeleton stock for my remington 870 shotgun as it uses an AR stock adapter in July of this year as it said it was able to ship from Brownells without restriction and it was in stock, no where in Canada had them that i could find. I placed my order and in a few days it was shipped up and arrived in the International Processing Centre in Mississauga. July 30 the package says, arrived in Canada and will be presented for review. I thought no problem, its a universal part and it should be through to me in the next couple days. I waited two weeks for this to change with no update and so i called the processing centre and asked if they could give me a status update. They informed me that as it was a firearm part and it was for a prohibited weapon that it has to be submitted to the RCMP to see if it is allowed to be imported into the country. I told them it was a universal part that was for my shotgun and they said that they know that it can be used on many different firearms but they have to submit it to the RCMP. It is now mid october and i just called asking for an update on my package and they said that it has been submitted for review and it could take 6 months to a year to hear back from the RCMP. I asked if they could ship it back to the states so i can get a refund and they told me that there is nothing i can do until they get a decision on the package. Now the CBSA people have been fantastic and helpful and i have absolutely no issue with them at all, but it is absolutely crazy that bringing in a few tubes of metal with some plastic and foam that can be used on tons of different firearms and is not regulated by any firearms licenses has be be submitted for review and held hostage for a year.

Sorry for the rant, but just wanted to let people know to not order anything that may be possibly used on an AR or variant and expect to receive it this year.

Time to start writing your MP, the Minister of Public Safety etc. I know people will say it's pointless, but I know MANY who work in Federal Law Enforcement and such inquiries do get things moving...

Must be hit or miss. Recently ordered “ar15 parts” that are not for an ar15 from brownells. Was at cbsa for a week. Then released. Irunguns is safest bet.

I have multiple packages at cbsa since April. The officer I spoke to wasn't able to give me any more information. This should he considered illegal seizure. It's been 7 months coming. By the time it gets to me, if it does, it will be double prohibited.

Damn I wish I saw this sooner. I have an Ace SOCOM stock from Brownells for my shotgun that’s now in limbo with CBSA.
Ordered March 20th and arrived into customs hell on the 29th.

Next time when you order from Brownells make the "Ship To" addressee to: RCMP Testing Division. Followed by your address.

Just make sure you register a proprietorship in your name under Real Crispy Meat Pies Testing Division.

Problem solved lol.

I’ve had an order held for 8 months or more.

AR buffer tube and pistol grip held as potentially prohibited. No ruling. Not seized. Just held. . CBSA officer has been great but my parts are still stuck in permanent limbo. Infuriating.

I ordered a device that allows 1 3/4" rounds to be easily used in a Mossberg pump. That was on Feb 11 of this year ....... still tied up in customs. I was told that the cbsa has been instructed to tie up any firearm part coming in to Canada and yes, some for as long as a year.
The exporter, Brownell's and other companies like that should be filing a lawsuit against the cbsa and the federal government for obstructing legal trade!

Got a call back from CBSA in Toronto last week, and the supervisor had this to say: He said they have 65,000 packages on backlog for inspection for gun parts. He also said that they are waiting for 40-45 students to come help clear out the backlog

What the heck is going on at CBSA??

I ordered some rear sight elevators for my Puma lever gun, was supposed to receive it within a week - it's been stuck at customs for more than two months!

My buddy had a similar experience with a cheap scope from Amazon, took more than a month stuck in customs.

Are NO gun parts able to get through any more?

Im interested in both who Odinson heard this from, and who might be directing the CBSA to interfere with international trade...

I bet it starts with "Men", ends in "ino" and has a dic in the middle.

I've got neck expanders, mandrels, and a concentricity gauge stuck there since Jan 30th.

...and an Ergo AR15 grip.

Honestly, at this point, I'm going to check with Brownell's as to whether they will accept a return on the original order whenever it gets released, and just re-order the reloading tools, skipping the stupid rubber grip this time.

How much more evidence to you need to understand that the rogue globalist puppet's? ........ Trudeau, Freeland and Singh are waging a war against the firearms community amongst others.........and especially in Alberta and Saskatchewan regarding agriculture.

This is not about safety and good governance............it is harassment and use of dictatorial power to cause harm to an identifiable group.

I got a similar reply about a backlog, but was also told on another call they were having some conflicting messages regarding what was prohib and what wasn't...so I'd love to know where that "conflicting" info is coming from, as it is in no way unclear.

I agree...it it most likely an effort to kill off our sport and hobby indirectly.
