lightweight scope and ringo combo for Model 70 Featherweight?

Haha at this point I'm just here along for the ride. The thread proved to be helpful though as I had never considered a Leupold scope before and had never even heard of Talley rings prior to this thread.

Cheers.

This thread went sideways fast!

I'm sure the 3x9 with the talleys will be light enough, happy shooting.

That's because its chuck, if its not his way it sucks.

I thought 2 accounts/multiple accounts weren't allowed here? I see in the perma-ban thread multiple accounts banned all the time.

So a guy can sht-disturb all he wants and then just make a new account and keep doing it?

That is where I have seen that rifle before. Is the original Chuck banned?

Not sure why he would post the same rifles on different accounts.

This account was created with permission of the administrator. My old one was deactivated at my request. So I do not have multiple accounts nor am I trying to hide anything. But there sure is three guys here that seem to have an axe to grind.

My preference for a lighter weight Model 70.

Great rifle. Still can’t believe McMillan isn’t inletting for Winchesters anymore.

Did you get those rings ceracoted or are they factory nickel?

They are gunkoted. I’m not a fan of coatings of any kind, but they turned out OK.

McMillan crapped the bed for sure. I just ordered a Bansner stock for another Model 70. So we will see how that works.

Winchester, ruger, Mauser…..basically anything but a 700 is flat top only. They sold out recently and cut a large portion of their line.

Talked to them today. Guy that answered the phone said every Ruger stock they have ever built needed to be fit to the action in house. So now flat top only. A lot of guys I know have Ruger McMillans. I don’t know one that has sent their rifle for fitting. Lol.

That's not FAIR ! Chuck is NOT a S - disturber - he's just Very OPINIONATED ! and doesn't LIKE any others if it Differ's from His ! BUT he is VERY knowledgeable for SURE ! jmo RJ

They add dimension. Some are “sticky”. None wear well. I also like the steel on the outside to match the inside. It’s a good reminder of giving proper care. I prefer blueing and uncoated stainless. Same with knives. Coated blades that get used tend to look horrible after a while.
