Semi-auto CETME Modelo A

the type 89 and fn 280 definitely sound cool. Now I wish I had a business license and a machine shop

-Semi-auto Uzi SMG. Has to be in SMG configuration and cannot copy the Model A method of semi-auto function
-Semi-auto L85.
-Semi-auto PK machine gun. Must be in PK configuration and not PKM configuration.
-Semi-auto FN 280 carbine. This model was the last model before the FAL.
-Semi-auto Howa Type 89

Just to name a few.

>type 89
>FN 280
>Cetme A

Are you saying there is a chance I can be a cold war collector...?

Yes haha. The OICs of the 90s put a huge hamper on being able to own the Cold War classics, but life finds a way. Peruse all the firearms that are prohibited, and see if any of them had earlier models or prototypes. Then those ones should be ok to own. And sometimes the OIC lists commercially made semi-auto versions of military firearms and does not name the original firearm, as is the case with the UZI and Cetme. Then those firearms should also be good to go.

still waiting for the lab to take a #### or get off the pot?
Lol, I’m currently at a year wait to just receive a list of guns awaiting their blessing.

Just gotta make it compatible with G3 furniture (if possible) to open up that option.
Possible with modification to the furniture. I had to do it this way for obvious reasons to not give them even a slight possibility of declaring it a G3 variant.

So, if these get the A-ok, will you be making each one by hand? how do I get in the list early?? Love your youtube channel btw!

Any Rcmp request I have is currently over a year

I think it might actually do well in the US - after all, it was on Forgotten Weapons, and Gun Jesus likes it!

Copper Custom in the States makes new Cetme L rifles. If the B-Wing Pilot's service to the community gets the Cetme A approved and not all semi-auto are banned, maybe Copper can make a batch of Cetme A's for us and and sale in the States.

And perhaps haha. There are a few hurdles to overcome. First would be to convince the US manufacturer of the G3,MP5,CETME stampings to do a run of CETME A stampings. This would probably require a (relatively) large volume order, ~$50,000-$100,000 worth. Then the next hurdle would be to convince RCM to do a run of 18.5" barrels, again a large volume order would be necessary. Barrels are a huge hurdle to overcome since they have to have the chamber fluted and not many companies are able to do that.

These guns are definitely not meant for small scale production like CNC'd aluminum rifles can be adapted to. The receiver of the rifle I submitted was made using a ton of sacrificial 3D printed stamping dies, so not feasible for production. Also, I used an existing Sarco? made barrel, which is 18", but still had the chamber flutes. So the rifle that was submitted will end up being restricted, if it gets the labs blessing. Which I'll probably end up selling shortly afterwards, to fund more future projects.

In the end, it will probably require at least $250,000 worth of upfront investment to get a production run going. Not the best use of money in this political climate... And honestly I'd prefer to just keep making more rifles/SMGs to submit to the lab to get approved, rather than do production. I'd be happy to work with any other company to make it happen though. And I'm pretty confident that at least 1 company will just go ahead and get CETME A rifles made in the US to their own spec anyways, once this gets approved haha.
