RCMP Firearms Website and Transfers

Some of you may be wondering why we haven't updated your orders from the last few days. The RCMP website was done most of Thursday and then worked for a few hours Friday morning. It went down mid Friday morning as has not worked since. So, transfers are piling up here.

This Government has a bad track record on many things IT, such as Phoenix, ArriveCan ...

We are paying, daily, for this incompetence with taxes, time, jobs and more.

None of the people responsible will ever be held responsible.

They will end up in NGOs, Boards, Consultancies, and earn themselves silly.

The rest of us will pay for their mess indefinitely.

I was just reading the Transpo board has a back log of 18000 complaints against the airlines. This government literally does nothing properly or effectively and it gets worse each year they're in power.

On top of the hundreds of restricted transfers we have piling up, no long guns could be legally 'transferred' for most of the last four days. When the new long gun transfer system was implemented, it was promised the website would be improved to handle the requirement. An obvious lie.

Can you call in and have them do it manually?
Contact somebody higher up and fax or email the list to be entered and request reference numbers returned.
I doubt that they are flying blind internally. This probably affects only the public facing site.
I have not seen any announcements that it is down or under for maintenance.
If businesses complain about this, maybe it is addressed or becomes a story with some truth out of it.
They are obligated to provide the service or find alternate means.
How much of this are we willing to take, just sit, wait and hope for the best?

I’ve been trying to initiate a UR transfer for 2 days and the system is down. Rogers internet went down for 15 hours and all hell broke loose! Heads will roll, inquiries will be done. CFC system down for days….meh.

Well actually they just have to call 911, that’s how the system works. Now if we could call 911 to initiate a registration that would even things up. But threat of violence and inconvenience are 2 very different scenarios.
