Glock 48

that is hilarious coming from the guy that tried to sell a g19x at $4000 ... that was price gouging. i cannot complain if a dealer is importing some last glock or any others and asking a little more ... if someone want one that is a great option considering what is happening in a few days.

I'm not complaining I made a statement. Dealers are free to sell for whatever they want.

Is there a reason everyone is scooping up the G48? Is it really that great of a gun or is panic buying settling in? Curious to know from someone who has handled one.

it's the only gun that's that is restocking. and probably the last glock you will find. prophit river has posted and sold over 100 in the last few days alone. if they posted 100 17's or 19's they likly would have gone just as fast. but there are non at any store and unlikely at this point

I suspect most people prefer the G19 over the G48. People with small hands like me like the G48 more. Like others have commented on, right now they're available and well priced. Personally I hate fat neutered mags and the fact the G48 has ten round mag and is super slim makes it the one Glock I don't dislike.

I had a chance to shoot the glock 48 and I shot it way better then I every shot any other glock. It just fit my hand like a glove. So I ordered one as soon as the ban was announced.

I've seen lots of people describe the 48 grip as 1911 ish. So if you like 1911 grips...

Like a slender 1911 . I have average lady hands and the minute I picked a 48 up …..I bought it .
It is the best fitting stock grip I’ve handed for MY hands .
After customizing the grip and trigger Gaurd at BlackBox it’s now perfect .
Never owned a plastic gun before and this may be the only one I ever buy but it’s the one I take to the range every time now , great little pistol .

I have one on order with PR, but have never actually held one. How would you guys say the grip size compares to the M&P9? Which M&P backstrap is closest to the G48?

if you compare that will be more like a 1911 for the grip size. i shot only one time the g48 and one time the mp9 with regular grip it was an atc firearm set up so i can t tell for a civilian one.

the grip and handling are really different than the g19/g17 and for shooting a glock i prefer the g45/g19x but g48 can have his place in any collection.

...Which M&P backstrap is closest to the G48?

Well technically it would be the smallest M&P backstrap, but it's like comparing apples and oranges. The G48 is much slimmer.

I read many posts saying the G48 grip is similar to the 1911 grip, and I always cringe. I suppose they are vaguely similar - Except the 1911 is a different grip angle, longer front to back, wider side to side, and has convex sides. Oh, and it has a different trigger position relative to the web of the hand, and doesn't have the Glock hump. But aside from that, yeah I guess they're similar. ;)

I get that there's probably not a better common comparison to be made, but I sure wouldn't say they're similar. Maybe a better comparison for the G48 grip is to the Browning 1911-380 with an arched mainspring housing. But it still feels very different.
