Good morning,

I would like a replacement frame for my Glock 17 Gen 4. Lets just say that I modified the grip and although it is quite practical, I would like to have the stock grip back in place.

What are my options if any? Other than buying a new pistol.....which is a feat in itself these days.....crazy times!

Just asking....

Thanks for any help.

Sincerely,

Back in the old day’s, I bought an AR15 that had a damaged lower receiver
So, I contacted the Colt Distributor, they said to send the lower to them
Took a few months, but, Colt sent me a new one with the same number for
about $100.00 in service costs
I would contact Glock and see if this an option
They have a phone number you can use
I called them about a Glock, very helpful

Can we see some pics?

I'm afraid that getting a new frame may be quite challenging as this is the registered part and in the current crisis, they are flying off the shelves.
If you had a p320, could could just replace the grip module for like $65 bucks, just saying...:stirthepot2:

Thanks can14. Good idea! I just sent them an email. Lets see what they can do..... I will let you know on this thread.

I will post some pics when I get home (in 1 week, on vacation now) pirate604.

Thank-you for your feedback.

I doubt you will get a glock one. Without buying a whole gun. (And good luck with that)

You might find a fake glock lower. Like a p80. You just need to sure it’ll fit. The p80 might be gen 3 only.
I saw a sponsor with p80 lowers in stock yesterday.

The problem is it needs to be in the country before Aug 19th when the import ban starts…
The frame is the registered part.

You can send the frame for repair and they can send you a new one
back with the same number
That basically is what Colt did

There have been many frame only Glocks available on the EE. The problem is the with the potential freeze coming, you may not find one in time. Post a WTB ad, and you may find someone may be willing to dump their before the freeze.

You dug your own grave.
Likely you are stuck with what you have done, considering the current extremely corrupt state of Canadian government.

I'd be curious as to what it was you thought Glock did wrong in manufacturing these guns the way they did...

I've heard of Glock replacing grips before, but you're going to be SOL here as next week Glock wouldn't be allowed to import a replacement back into the country.

In terms of options because they're becoming more limited by the day, worse case scenario Gen 3 frames including P80 can be modified to work with Gen 4 slides. I've done it a few times now with gen 2 and 3 frames with success.

PS it'll likely void any warranty you may have had:cool:

if that's the case, the OP could buy the el cheapo red training Glock 22P from Nordic Marksman - its lower is fully functional.
I only see the Gen 3 in stock there but yes, the lower is fully functional. P80 is still the cheaper way to go and the OP would be less butt hurt if the mod doesn't go as planned:p

Ok....here's what I tried......

Tried emailing Glock. No response. With all this craziness, they probably don't even know what to respond.

Looked into buying a used Gen 4 frame.....but these went fast and were a little pricey for me for just a frame. Looked at other frames (not Glock, Poly 80) also....but not sure they would work 100% and I wanted the stock frame.

In the end..........here's what I did......I ended up buying a whole new G17 Gen 4 today (Dante has some....believe it or not! That's as of 15:00 today anyways. They also have a few G19s. He opened the shipment that had just come in in front of me....oufff! So beautiful all these beautiful Glocks!!!).

Anyways....I will run one slide MOS with an RMR and one slide with no RMR. Two slides!!!

YOLO my wife says to me. YOLO my friends!!!

:)

Thank-you everyone that responded or tried to help me!

YOLO
