Do I really need a glock?

If you have to ask, you already know the answer.

But really, why wouldn't you want one? They're not the fanciest thing out there, but they're pretty much the closest thing in the handgun world to a guarantee of going bang right out of the box.

If you already have a rival, don’t feel so bad if you can’t find a Glock at the pre-panic prices.
The canik is a good shooter out of the box, just needs more aftermarket support but I’m sure it’s coming due to the rising popularity of the pistol.

Hopefully you're right, hard to predict. But if things DO go all Mad Max in terms of parts availability... Hopefully they won't, but if they did... It's one heckuva great reason to double down on Glocks.

Or secure spare parts kits (or complete pistols) of your favourite (more delicate) non-Glock.

Yes, because:

I hate Glocks. Never thought I'd own one. Ugly cheap plastic garbage, or so I thought. Thought expensive steel was the way to go. Then Trudeau said "hey everyone, buy your handguns right away" (or something like that, it was a blur honestly). So I did some research, and bought a G48 and a G34 (and a couple of Shadow Systems Gucci Glocks). Glock can't be denied: reliable, durable, low bore axis, parts availability, ability to customize. Everyone needs a utilitarian grocery getter in their collection, if for no other reason than as a backup.

Glock perfection

Gotta say I'm perfectly fine with 2nd & 3rd gen Glocks.

And answer to the OP's original question: "Hell, yes".

NAA.

Love them or hate them you need at least 1 for your collection.

I'd have to disagree! I have no Glocks in my collection and I can still sleep at night knowing I have a pretty nice diversified collection (including 2 polymer handguns) That being said people really seem to love them.

I don't think it has to be a Glock specifically, but everyone should have two 9mm polymer striker fired, highly reliable and durable pistols in their safe. Identical clones would be great, but not essential. Glocks are a great option for that need because they are as good or better than anything else for reliability, the most common for parts replacement, the most common and durable mags, and the most common for dual use mags in other platforms. Having a Ruger PCC to go with them is also a great idea (or other highly reliable Glock mag 9mm PCC)

Can you really call it a collection then? :)

Absolutely. I have 2 glocks sitting in my safe taking up valuable space because a family member left the country and transferred to me. I just dont enjoy shooting glocks. They arent for everyone. If that's your thing, great. Some people like buttsex, and that's fine too. And some people like both glocks and buttsex, and that's great for them cou:
