In the market for a semi auto, but not a big budget unfortunately.
Saw these Girsans and the price is crazy cheap.

Does anyone have any real experience with them, easy to clean and maintain, reliability etc.

They also have a semi with a rotary bolt that looks interesting but not much information that I can find.

Thanks in advance

Mine was a waste of money. Fine for a plinker shooting dirt, but if you plan to take it upland hunting or duck hunting, prepare to tell stories of the ones that got away.

I wonder how cheap manufacturers have to make these guns to sell them even cheap crap isn’t cheap enough.
I realize that not everyone has a large budget but there is a point where it is just junk

I picked one up a while back. Based on initial inspection and machining I wouldn't call it junk. First shells I tried were 1 oz 1200 fps, didn't cycle them. I had heard the guns need to be broken in somewhat with heavy loads, so I wasn't surprised. But it does cycle 1 oz 1350 loads just fine. So not even 50 rounds yet.

One came into the shop on trade. The MC3125 ( the 3.5" chamber).

For the $$, I grabbed it.

Barely broken in, I ran a bunch of heavy loads through it and gave it a good cleaning.

Spun in a skeet choke, and took it out and busted a bunch of clays, has zero issues cycling 2 3/4" light target loads, up to 3 1/2" steel.

I find it points well, and patterns fine ( full disclosure, I spun in a couple of extended Carlsons chokes, it takes the Ben/Ber Mobil chokes).

Zero issues. Would I buy one new? Sure.

One thing you could try is to remove the bolt return spring in the stock, and clean it out. The follower in my gun was positively goopy.

I bought one a few years ago as well and haven't had any problems with mine either. For the price I think you are getting good value for the money.

I have a wood 3" version. I like it, it hasn't given me any issues. Did put a couple of boxes of heavy loads through it when I first got it. I had read reviews about having trouble with light loads with them if not breaking them in so I put some heavier loads through and it's been fine. Prefer my Browning gold but it's been fine.

Mine is packed for a duck hunting trip in Manitoba next week along with my Super Nova. I plan to use the Girsan as the primary shotgun and put it through its paces. So far I've shot a bunch of 70's vintage lead magnum goose loads through it at clay pigeons with no issues and I am glad I upgraded the recoil pad to a limbsaver.

if I have any issues on the hunt I will post back. there is at least one other thread on this forum about these shotguns.

I would also like to add a browning Auto 5 to the safe but I'd say 50 weeks a year I am shooting 2 3/4", 7 1/2 size with 1oz or 1 1/8 oz target loads for fun out in the yard.
I mounted a cheap thrower to the receiver hitch on one of the ATV's

Is there anyway to make them cycle these loads reliably ?
I have contacted 2 sellers on the EE and both say they wont cycle the light stuff

Good luck on your hunt, I went deer hunting near Brandon MB 3 years ago. Loved it, had great success
