I didn’t get an email from TI, but I’m registered for automatic updates through Canada Post - if someone submits electronic information of a package to me, then I get a notice.

I got an update that I was being sent a package yesterday, and I’m not expecting anything else. It still just says that the electronic information was submitted. As soon as it actually ships, then I’ll know for sure.

I was sent another notice just after the first, that another package was shipping too - this is consistent with the only two things I’m expecting - both from TI.

I’m assuming it’s TI, but I really can’t say for sure. It has to be tho.

I’m in no hurry tho.

Of note; when TI ships, I usually get it next day. I’m very close to their warehouse.

The gun was redesigned from the t81 by a factory under norinco and exported to ca through Poly.
Its unlikely that the 54R or any other caliber will be produced as we all expect. Because that factory for civilian firearms production Line will only use the old lathe for simple modification. Reforging the barrel for the civilian market in ca? No way.
The fact is that the designers really need valid suggestions from the market (not "I don't think this gun looks good or I want a 54r). Because the design side is Information blockage.
The factory was very short of money, and Poly's purchase price was unimaginably low. So they don't have the money to upgrade their equipment to improve quality (although they would very much want to do so)

Thread the muzzle break on the outside and add an adjustable cylinder weight to give it a barrel tuner option.

Add a thread adapter to convert to common .30 calibre thread patterns.

Add a picatinny rail mounting option forward of the cheek rest so a guy can add flip up sights on a riser to allow a better rear peap sight and take advantage of the longer sight radius.

Thanks! I'll pass these suggestions on to the designer!

id pass on the pic rail nubbin aesthetic personally , but am not adverse to a more modern styling or features
rifle suffers from same thing as all the other comm bloc and ak style stuff regarding ergonomics and optics. I think this rifle would be well served by a bipod or the option for one ,
I think the red wood such as on the SE is wayyyyy nicer than this blonde stuff but thats obviously relative
a black polymer stock and handguard would also do well I bet such as type 81-8 people would definitely go for that which would be an easy win,
bayonet functionality, and any kind of modularity or ability to swap stocks, handguards, grips etc to modernize it
maybe even a qbz-03/T03 if it was possible , the market is there for sure

Id recommend they build the rifles properly before making new stuff but thats me. No more junk parts bin guns with crooked barrels. They still build type 56 and they arent sone jallopy like these

i dont believe they have built any type 56 in a long while and if you think all chinese SKS are well built then you dont know chinese SKS. im just sayin, lol.

Does anyone know the barrel lenght on this one?
Was unable to find this info on the TA website.

Also, does anyone know the overall lenght including the birdcage?

Theres a market for both. People like me who love the older cold war Nostalgia prefer the way they set up the SR, and would very much view 1913 rails, mlok slots and polymer furniture as take aways to the SRs appeal.

Where as evidently many would rather have something styled closer to the NAR-10 or M10x.

They import new type 56 to south africa do youre homework and Ive handled lots of chinese sks's. Export and military... none had crooked barrels
