Can anyone here comment on the CAA microconversion kit for Glocks (17 especially)? Is it worth the $300 purchase?

I'm also under the impression that it isn't technically impacted by the new laws coming into effect in Sept/Oct. Is that correct?

everything is or will be impacted. some think it is not worth because it goes only to pistol that are restricted and go for the range only and some others like me used it and kept it.

it is increasing the range and tighening the grouping and i like it but it s not an mp5 ...

look up on youtube to get an idea or if you have a range ask around.

I have shot the gen 2 version and I found it a bit bulky. KPOS scout is $80 more and it's a much slimmer package. Also the KPOS scout is much easier to install. It doesn't need a charging handle mod just plug and play. I bought the scout after trying both. Don't expect either to hold a precise zero with a red dot. Every time you reinstall the pistol it's off by a bit. Not a deal breaker just something to be aware of.
 
Canada and the USA have very weird exceptions. In Canada adding a chassis to a handgun isn't regulated. No one cares. In the USA they care if you add a vertical grip to a handgun or a stock. That's why there are so many not a STOCK arm brace style handgun attachments. In the USA when you add a stock to a pistol you need to register it as a SBR and get a tax stamp. NJ outlaw SBRs EVEN WITH A TAX STAMP. Also they want you to put a serial number of the chassis with your tax stamp. Ie. You need a serial number on your roni in the US. Again in Canada the government doesn't care if you add a bunch of stuff to your handgun. Not everything is worse in Canada. Even a broken clock is right twice a day.
 
my G17C lives permanently in mine.
I really like it.
I picked up the add-on kit, and I really like that too.
flashlight, thumb rests etc etc.

I have not had any issues with mine losing zero.

also like the fact that it takes 2 seconds to put the pistol in or take it out.

Thumb rests are 100% necessary. It makes it so comfortable to shoot rapidly and accurately.
 
these can be used on both 19 and 17 models you just have to adjust the barrel shroud but yeah lots of fun for the range. pop on a red dot and you can hit paper at 30 yards and beyond

I was just coming to comment this. The MCK is great however the IDS Micro Roni is much nicer imo. One of my 17's lives in it. Most fun you can have without being naked... though if your range allows it... you CAN store a spare mag on-board instead of in your prison pocket.

X2, I agree I like the CAA Micro Roni over the MCK. I really don't like the forward hand hold on the MCK.

IDS now sells both the CAA,MCK KITS as per agreement w both companies.

So does the CAA medvedqc, there virtual the same except for the front hand grip. It also has a passive trigger guard that can be swung over the trigger

stumbled on this thread and since you guys seem to be knowledgeable....

I have a S&W MP 2.0 9mm, and soon (or not so soon) gen 5 Glock 17 .... I have started to search for kits for each gun, but near as I can tell, there are more options available for the glock 17 vs the m&p
If you had to recommend which pistol to get a conversion kit for, which one would you choose?

I'm heading down to Florida soon, anyone know if I can pick one of these up and bring it back home without any special paperwork or process?

You should have no problems, if you are still considered you can order from here straight to your door. Both CAA and MCK kits available multiple Gens

Tenda was having a bit of a 'sale' so i grabbed a gen 2 CAA MCK for my M&P 2.0

looks like i'll need to order some accessories in the near future
 
Do they ship to Canada for sure?

I was told to check if the items can be legally imported here. :confused:
