IN-STOCK: All-New TYPE 81 SR

I went to the TMSA range #1 last weekend and here is my quick video firing my SR. The target is at about 40m (forgot to bring my rangefinder). Surplus ammo come with the VZ-58. I got a hundred or so left.

I used two sheets of paper towel to wrap around the scope so that the ejected case will not damage the scope surface.

Nice video!

I noticed you were able to ride the recoil in position and do a couple of nice double-taps. Do you find the longer piston makes for smoother recoil then on the rifle or LMG? Thanks!

As a former competitive triathlete, I think the inner-tube of a road bike, cut down to about 2-3 inches, would make a great shell deflector - just roll it on over the scope shade and voila!

Trying to avoid any cosmetic marks on the finish? Just curious, I don't think an ejected casing would effect the integrity of the optic but I also have never used this type of kit I don't know how well it'd hold up or not first hand, which is an interesting point in itself .. optic seems solid I guess now mine arrived but I can best describe it's construction as janky.. going from quality glass and mounts to these weird contraptions is funny

It’s my first Russian scope too, well third actually, but the first that falls into this weird category. It’s charmingly steampunk. I really like it, especially the 1970’s rubberized toggle switch.

The differences are negotiable to me comparing with a LMG. I will do a video comparison sometime soon since my friend has one. A muzzle brake will make a bigger change on the recoil. But even without a muzzle brake, the recoil is still manageable.

That should work. I was using paper towel to wrap it around and worked great.

Nice video! I found when I was just checking out the scope I preferred it without the rubber eye piece, I wear prescription glasses and I found it was a little annoying pressing into it to get a proper picture, maybe if I pressed it on a little further it may have been better not sure.

Good point ! With shooting /prescription glasses on that'll be tough and awkward to use the rubber eye piece.

Ah perfect I see it !

Also, has anyone been able to figure out the diopter adjustments? The reticle markers are a bit fuzzy, and the manual didn't label the diopter adjustments (or maybe I'm just blind)

I think this is a case of multiple models in one manual, and a missing note. There's no perceivable diopter on the PO4-01-1 that's the model right?

Yeah I think you are right, it seems that only models with a "D" have a diopter.

Kind of annoying that there isn't one. I have a hard time getting my eyes to focus on the reticle at closer distances (sometimes my eyes focus on it and sometimes they can't).

At longer distances + red illumination, my eyes focus on the reticle better.

I have an older NPZ scope I got at a gunshow. On it there is a set screw to loosen and then the entire eyepiece bell can be rotated to adjust the diopter.
I just got my packages and this scope does NOT seem to have that adjustment. Fortunately for me the reticle is clear.
This might be similar to certain older fixed power scopes that also have no diopter adjustment.
