some epic projectile impact video clips to come out of it too..........

Thoughts

so to throw the spanner in the works, it needed coup de grace , was found sitting, slowly throwing its head back...... im assuming one lung - an deflection from rib OR very point of elbow??? on entry..
id waited approx 15 mins before getting to her
will return to see when carcass is cleaned up of guts an stuff. i took the legs and back straps an forgot a torch an seemed to be flavour of the month for the mosquitos down in that ditch

Well, Rhys, that Speer really came apart, didn't it?
Did it contact any bone on entry?
If that is what happened at 7.62x39 velocities, I
cannot see myself using it in a 303 British or similar
larger chambering. Dave.

this is my major concern!!!!

if it did this at sub 2000......... id hate to see it at 2600........ ?

i questioned, does the 303 kick it out the other side, unbeknown to use....... major damage etc, dead deer......?

quite interesting.

in the video i feel Rib an Rib were only hit

I think you need a bigger gun

Nothing wrong with the gun or the shot just needs a sturdier bullet. Wouldn't have expected that from a Speer? As mentioned would have been even more explosive out of a .303 Brit or Mosin.

As in not letting an animal suffer for more than 15 minutes.

We don't do that up here.

easy to sling it from over there too though....... im not sure your in the right frame of mind to assume one would let an animal suffer per say.
not too dissimiliar to a bow hunter, arrowing a deer, reviewing footage (of a marginal hit) an givin the animal time to expire. - read in my situation we visually witnessed a darn near 'perfect' shot placement- one would expect to be dead in 3 minutes- many hunter with experience will not race up on a deer shot within 2 minutes if its gone out of sight- this will often cause animal to flee IF not dead , as expected.

edit to carry on- mbogo is right, but we went to a "sturdier" projectile, over original 124gr factory offerings to something that is "legal" for this Species- this is far out unexpected of projectile in question- We'll test on one more Sambar with ideal placement and if something else fails- we are moving onto something different, not definatly more weight but of better construction...
130 ppsn did someone say?

have a good day
