CBC now carrying a story that highlights the LP's sneaking in amendments to C-21!
To me, this is demonstrably a shift in the discourse.
All of these amendments have been pre planned.
The Liberals are playing with us like a cat that knew where to find a squirming nest of mice.
And all of you will gladly thank the Liberal Party for not taking your gun away.
Until next time when the Liberal Party will take your gun away
We are so damn stupid.
But what does an old bad kitty know?
The kitty knows that you are sucker bait for that PPC guy.

I cannot WAIT to vote! I truly hope everyone in this community and many like it are all on the same page. As an Ontarian, I would love to finally see a spike in conservative votes. What is this split party voting? Weakens the true numbers of CPC.
TO BE HONEST, I used to be a liberal - an "old school" liberal. Be proud of who you are, help those in need, and let people live the lives they want in a democracy. I have NO IDEA what this version of liberal is - long before I became a member of this community, began noticing the shift. Gone are the days of choice, or true rights. Now- you MUST comply by adding to your vocabulary the ever expansive "inclusive" pronouns, you MUST accept that legal ownership and being a tax payer No longer grants you a voice of opinion - and if you happen to have one outside the norm; you're a bigot.
It's truly saddens me to say...this is starting to feel like the beginnings of the CCP - Am I being too dramatic?
guys canada is planned for a nose dive into a mountain, 500'000 new immigrants per year now, plus allowing temp workers to bring there families now. international students are 100'000++. hes going to be bring close to 1million a year. its not gonna be good at all canada is going to change for worse. you got bill c-11 c-18 c-32 these are all internet bills that are gonna pass, its scary and the best part is noone is gonna stop him. oh and go look up the bill c-32 in BC. nuts...0
The people in the immigration centers will keep voting for liberals if not for the selfish reason to ensure their real estates remain elevated, and their leveraged multiple rental properties remain cash flow positive. More immigrants + workers = demand = support to real estate price and rent. Canadian is one of the most "real estate" heavy in their asset.
I once met an urban government worker who is your typical second gen immigrant liberal votes. She is pro-immigration and also owning multiple rental properties ( great to have a government job because the banks love to let these guys have the mini. down payment, so they can leverage one property on top of another easily!!! ) and at the same time advocating for affordable housing / crying for the disadvantaged. She was not amused when I pointed out her self contradicting behaviours. She is your typical leveraging up " condo slum lord", but she also cries for the high rent and vote for more demand but at the same time building her equity by being a provider on the back of the people she cries for!
In a way, she vote for more problems so she provides more solutions and then gets benefit from it. Is she rooting for the chicken or the egg? This sums up what the Liberals are really doing. It is the money. It pumps GDP. The Liberals voters get their heart stringed pulled by the virtue signalling but they are also loving(making money! ) the very conditions that pull their heart strings! So lets cry and sympathize about all the injustice but also make some good money out of it.
And hence Liberals have a dead grip on the city and the surrounding suburban riding - both the ridings with "old money" tied to real estates and financial services ( the big boys) and also immigrants who leverage up to take advantages of other new immigrates. Drive around these suburbs and see how many real estate agents targeting immigrants from their home countries. GDP pumping and relentless growth around the cities keep them in power.
That also points out that any anti-immigrant rhetoric indicate a failure of understanding the GDP pumping in the east and the BC - any parties that try to stop the money flow and being anti-immigrant will be defeated by the cities. Hence you see PP is touring around the immigrant heavy ridings. That's also the reason they only talk about more affordable housing but nothing on curbing the demand problem in the supply-demand imbalance that lead to inflated prices.
Lol.
Liberals - take guns away
NDP - take guns away
CPC - had several years to do things to protect firearms owners, and did the bare minimum at the end of the term to appease gun owners and bait them for the next round kf votes/promises. And the current batch of CPc leaders vocalized their support of adding restrictions (and only the super duper privy CPC know-it-alls knew this was a decoy to actually promote firearms)
PPC - support firearms owners
Yup... sure is the PPC voters fault.
Pretty sure I've seen this argument somewhere before... oh right, it was also my fault others covid 'vaccines' didn't work because I didn't get one.
That being said. I will be voting for PP because he seems genuinely like a Conservative... and not a Liberal in a different colour
might as well vote for Trudeau if you vote PPC..........bad choice
we need all the cpc votes to win, DONT DILUTE THE VOTE MAN!!!!!!
the only way for trudeau and the liberals to lose power is for the conservative type party to unite as one. By having a conservative party and a peoples party and whatever others there are you are just splitting the vote, guaranteeing trudeau a victory
Not too sure how popular this opinion would be here but I'm pro immigrant as long as their young, hardworking, and bring their own wealth in. "Most" nations want foreigners to bring their money there because its good for the economy+population. Never seen a nation say send us your poor? In the end if you look downtown its generally not Asians on the street with their hand out or a needle in their arm. Last I checked US stats also showed homeless, crime rates, and likelihood of getting shot are lowest among East-Asians even lower than Caucasians. So unless US cops are racist against white people there's a reason Asians are doing better than Caucasians. Most US universities had to require 30% higher SAT scores just to keep Asians out.
The fact is Canadians are getting older and we're not having many kids. A greater proportion is also getting on welfare/shooting up. I definitely think we need to work on that but in the short-term we need people making money and doing work. I think many of us drive Toyotas or at least acknowledge that the Japanese work culture to have a reliable product/do a good job is something we'd love to see here. Of course our #1 source is the Philippines, and #2/3 is India/China. On the bright side those countries generally have strong work/business ethics where people work 12 hours a day 6-7 days a week. In China violent crime is basically non-existent and being homeless/unemployed/on welfare is shameful which you generally see reflected here.
I believe that the Liberals are flooding cities with immigrants to pump up housing issues and increase the power of their voting strongholds. If we dispersed immigration outside dense cities we'd alleviate a lot of pressure on our housing. But fixing a problem doesn't get a government re-elected. Back when Canada was built immigrants spread out into the country to occupy farmland. I think we need a similar thing where we identify small cities/towns that are dying but have free jobs and fill them up with immigrants. Coal miners, forestry, farming, etc. have pretty universal skills so we can easily have a foreigner who worked in those industries move here and do the same (outside a city). One issue with our educated immigrant category is that favors masters degrees and the people with those tend to be from a large city and they will have to work in a large city here.
Speaking to the housing problem, Alberta can pump out a 800sqft modular home for about $40k and installing it+fixtures is about $80k for $120k total. Yet when we create modular housing in BC we spend $400k+ per unit despite free land and no fees. So either there's large graft going on or we're just incredibly incompetent. Can't blame foreigners for that, thats on us. Even Chilliwack and Abby where there's land everywhere have incredibly expensive housing compared to AB. Immigrants aren't the problem there, we are.
Even if your completely anti-immigrant though I think you can agree that publicly being anti-immigrant isn't going to win the CPC any elections. You could be Anti-LGBT, anti-abortion, anti-immigrant and a neo-nazi but you can't be stupid enough to not recognize that saying that stuff won't win the election. And practically speaking a CPC thats progressive beats a Liberal government so aim to win rather than have your perfect society and compromise.
PS: I've seen some say that Chinese are money laundering. Thats generally not true (there's no stats that show they do so more than any other race plus most laundering in Canada happens through businesses aka laundromats and similar), what they do is hide money from the government and get it out of China. I assume no one is going to argue that we should force Chinese fleeing China to give the CCP tax money or keep their money in China? Why would we want China to be stronger/richer?
exactly!

No one moves money out of China without the state knowing. Most Chinese here are part of the regime and are monitored by the motherland. 3/10 Chinese nationals report intelligence back to the mainland.
