I am aware of the CATCH22 dispenser but that's not exactly what I'm looking for.

I usually carry a Savage Rascal single shot rifle because it slips in the loops on my backpack perfectly.

I currently carry around a Ruger MKII pistol magazine in my pocket so that I can quickly strip off a round into the rifle with my thumb without having loose rounds in my pocket.

I'm looking for something similar, spring loaded that I can strip rounds off but that also has a pocket clip on it kind of like a pocket knife clip.

Does this exist? Otherwise I'll try and design something for the pistol mags to 3D print a pocket clip.

I think you've got the right idea with a short mag, maybe find a used one for a few bucks? You could attach a clip off a pen or something with JB?

Something totally diff, that I made from a YT vid. These are 'bubba-feeder's for my Marlin 60, but you could make something like this for however many rounds you wish. A single tube mightbe all you want/need. Vinyl ice-maker tubing + 1/2 used .308 case on each end. Plugged with ear-plugs. The 'original' design is sold as 'Spee-d-loader' on A-zon and some vendors in Can. OEM is made by a small company in Ohio, since the 70s. And looks very diff, but works great.

Hey Mike - Those are lookin' handy. Sold by "The Wilderness" in the USA . If they can be shipped to CAN . . . It looks like they can ship some products to Can, but these may be ITAR like a mag ? They'd prob end up costing ca $25+ CDN, if they can come in. Or you could take some larger "stretchy" bullet holder from A.zon.ca and sew smaller pouches into it.

Got ahead of me. Exactly what I was going to recommend. Friend of mine had these made up for his single shot. Work great for loading tube mags also.

They ought to be easy enough to make

What about just using a 5-shot magazine from a Savage MK II and epoxying on a clip from a cheap pocket knife? A bit more compact than your Ruger mag if nothing else...

I don't understand what's wrong with a handful in your pocket.

Lube on the cartridges attracts and gets coated with lint, dirt, plant debris, and grit from my pockets.

After every grouse hunting trip, my pockets get alot of plant debris (needles, sticks, bark flakes, dead weed bits, etc).

Some ammo brands have a liquidy lube, some a waxy lube, some a more dry lube. The liquidy and waxy brands especially get contaminated with debris easily. You don't want debris and grit going into your rifle.

Keeping rimfire ammo clean in some kind of carrier is what I do. I use the Marbles Catch22 when grouse hunting, but it rattles loudly if I clip it on my belt. I therefore keep it in my day pack (no or less rattle), which makes it inconvenient to re-load from (stop, take off the pack, dispense, put pack back on....).

I bring two or three 5-round mags in a small zip pouch that protects them from contamination, and keep this in a handy pocket (no rattling). I use this pouch of mags to slide off rounds to reload the mag in the rifle, or swap mags. When these are depleted I stop and reload the mags from the Marbles Catch22.

Its still a slow system, and something like a pez dispenser with a belt clip (spring loaded so stacked rounds do not rattle) would be ideal, as long as the top round was protected from contamination, and from being stripped off by a branch when busting through the bush.

I got a couple of these from a hunting buddy. Looks like they will ship from Cali to Canada

They are a medium hard rubber compound

I made some out of 3/8" brake line, capped off one end, and then drilled a hole for a hitch pin.
