PAL Wait Time

You would think with the back log of licenses due to printer issues, they would maybe run the printer for an extra day or two to get caught up? Just a thought. At the very least, it would cut down on the amount of phone calls from people looking for their cards.
 
Hey, just joined this forum so I hope this is the right place to post this. I called today for info on my new pal application and was told my photo was rejected. Anyone else have this happen that can give me a rough time frame as to when I will get a rejection letter in the mail? They rejected it as it wasn’t on photo paper, so just wondering how long till the rejection letter will show in the mail and I can resubmit my new photo. Thanks!
 
I am inclined to chime in here. I mailed my PAL application to NS and was received via registered mail on April 4, 2022. It was completed the initial review and sent to the CFO for Alberta on May 25, 2022. I have yet to see any update on my application since then. After 2 calls, I have been told there is no problem with my application, just requires time for the CFO to review it. So to summarize, nearly 7 months in the hands of AB CFO and still waiting for approval.
Just thought I would let those waiting for, seemingly forever, their pal licenses, that they are not alone...

What is your background like? Did you check any boxes on the application?
 
In a similar boat …… received by the RCMP CFO on June 16th. No issues with any paperwork. Has been sent to Ontario CFO for final review and checks. Was told to give it another month and check back. Just surpassed the six month mark. Will be at least seven, likely closer to eight before received.

On the bright side the call taker at the CFO was super friendly and helpful and she actually picked up as soon as the phone rang. No wait time. I was shocked !!!!! ;-)

I just got off the phone with Stacy at the RCMP who was really really nice. She looked into the system and said my file is with the CFO but has not yet been assigned to anyone.

Well that's good news...it could have been worse...she could have told you it was assigned to KAM.
