New Release - Marlin 1895 Guide Gun

RDSC's price is way out of line, especially for a preorder. There are plenty of other sponsers that have them coming in at the $1700 mark, heck even Cabela's/BP are selling them for $1700ish when the have them in stock.

That's a ridiculous asking price for a dealer. I know a dealer can ask any price they want, but $2500.00?

Canadian Tire Cranbrook sold a Trapper yesterday for $1950.00 before taxes.

I guess prices are all over the map and will only get worse as our dollar keeps tanking........:(

Supply and demand, just like powder was at $120lb when you could find it, now powder is comming back, same as primers will.
Patience is a virtue, I own a couple Marlins a JM and Rem. Both are great, I paid $900 not all that ling ago new for the dreadfull Remlin lol and it's great.
I purchased two Henry's in the last two years , very similar to a Marlin for design and function, verh good levers and considerably less than the new Marlin.
To each their own, if people think a lever action is worth north of $2000-$2500 ...Well!?.

Patience....if people really want one but want to pay a reasonable price , wait untill the end of the year or spring 2024.

I agree with you except for one caveat.

The corrupt liberals and their band of WOKE WEF BASTARDS could very well ban these Marlins on the basis it's a quick repeating "assault style rifle"!.......:(

Although I no longer find this crap amusing, the Libtards will be all over it. I'm certain they are banned in the UK and New Zealand or Australia. Don't quote me on this though.

One may want to buy one now, no matter what the cost......:)

Though I wouldn’t put it past the Liberals to eventually attempt the feeble “assaultiness” argument for repeaters, it’s probably unlikely considering the backlash over the already grossly overreaching Bill-21 and amendments. Repeaters aren’t banned in either the UK, Australia or New Zealand. However, there’s a bill that came into effect in 2015 in Australia that places heavier regulation on lever action shotguns with a capacity of more than five rounds. I actually thought repeaters were more heavily regulated as well. The scarcity of these Marlin’s will push the grey market prices up astronomically as is already quite evident. Seems like a bit of research is showing that the MSRP on a few sellers has already gone up at least $200 from what I saw less than two months ago. I’m just hoping sellers don’t start a price gauging campaign based on the insane demand and what they’re seeing on the grey market.

Lets face it, we are like 6 year olds in a candy store. No logic is needed if a gun is wanted. Somehow to get the cash...check, gun is available....check......into the safe it goes.....lol!

I have a JM stamped guide 45-70 which I bought brand new on whim. I'll be honest I didn't really know what I was buying at the time, I just knew it was big and that's what I was Looking for. Now it is definitely on the keep forever list regardless of availability. Its just a great gun to shoot and carry and load for.

If they are not banned in New Zealand, can you explain this blurp from google search?

  • Besides all centerfire semi-auto rifles, the NZ firearm prohibition covers even lever-action, bolt-action, and pump-action rifles if they have a capacity of more than 10 rounds of ammunition, regardless if they are chambered in centerfire or rimfire calibers.

And this in Australia?

  • (Nov. 28, 2016) On November 21, 2016, during a late-night session, the Australian Senate voted on a motion, put forward by Senator David Leyonhjelm, to disallow a regulation that would continue an existing ban on the importation of lever-action shotguns with a magazine capacity of more than five rounds.

Or this!.....:(

The lever action ban: What you can do about it | Combined Firearms Council of Victoria

Looks to me that Lever Action guns are banned in United Kingdom, Australia and New Zealand.

Can someone please correct me if I am wrong?

I can't seem to find anything current on this subject.

IM not sure if its been mentioned but i saw a fairly recent TFB video where they were interviewing a rep from Ruger and he stated they would be bringing back most of the Marlin levers. From 30/30s to straight stocked .357s. probably a year before we see them but thats lots of time to save up for one!

I would think all the old favorites will be back in production at one point or another.

Getting them into our Canadian market is time consuming to say the least.

If we are patient, they will come. Hopefully sooner than later......:)

Anyone else feel like ruger missed an opportunity with the sights on these guns?

If the trapper had the exact same skinner rear site, with the same front fiber optic that the SBL has I think you’d have about the best iron setup you can get.

Wonder what made them go with the large white blade on the trapper instead of the fibre optic.

I’ll also note I really really don’t like the hooded sight on the guide gun…

Why they did 3 different iron sight setups on 3 similar guns is beyond me.
