How good/reliable are the CZ 527 mags guys?

Now that they are discontinued I'm wondering if it's still worthwhile to change a Howa mini over to a a magazine that's nearly a hundred bucks and who knows how much longer can be found in stores

But if they're bulletproof quality...

Thanks!

There Good Joel but with a Jefferson conversion using cz527 mags they hang out quite a bit BUT with a DIP or std JEFFERSON using Howa mags you can cut a few down for flush mount to carry the rifle under it in the field . sure it does curt down the capacity but you still got 3 shots with one in the chamber ! That's interesting Jim! Especially since the models with the floorplates are 3-4 shot affairs too. Hmmm...something to think about!

Thanks all!

I put a couple thousand rounds between 2 magazines, never had an issue. They looked pretty much new after, no discernible wear.

I can’t see wearing out a 527 mag. Way better chances your going to lose the mag or shoot the barrel out.

I’ve never put one in a howa but single stack and push feed is a great combo from a “smoothness” perspective in my experience.

I’ve used one single magazine to shoot thousands of 7.62x39 rounds. Maybe around 5? Still trucking

All steel, I find the bent feed lips will have a sharp edge that will scratch brass if not filed/sanded down a bit. Same issue on all 5 mags I have here. Takes 5 mins to remedy.

There's 3rnd 527 magazines, but I don't know if they'd work in the jefferson bottom metal

I saw someone do it on another forum but it might have needed a wee bit of tweaking. Looked nice though.

The CZ527 is a good single stack mag. Like one of the members mentioned, I also sand the lips as they have all been quite shap.
That being said I don't know if it's good enough to warrant the cost of converting the Howa. What's the idea behind the conversion ? Doesn't it just make the howa end up costing the same as a CZ527 ? Why not just get the CZ in the first place ?

527s aren't made anymore and the prices are already starting to be jacked
Howas can be a pain to find too for some reason though

Been happy with the ones I have. I was only able to find one sponsor that has them in stock at a decent price, not an exhaustive search, and that was Wolverine for under $70 before tax and shipping. Anyone who wants one might be advised to get them while they can.
