Transfer Times

Got my transfer notice today! August 24th received and approved today (Feb 8th). My first handgun, and I guess the last, but hey, at least many of us got in before the freeze/ban bullsh*t.

I called them with my transfer approval on Jan 28 and my gun was shipped Jan 31.

I just have the number, I'm 605**** so I know I have to wait at least another month but since this is my first time I don't know how it will go.

Will I get an email from the RCMP saying it was approved and then I have to call or will Arms East get it since they initiated both sides and I'll get an email from them or will my pistol just show up one day?

Transfer #6014### on August 26th, also received today Feb 9th

This one was Newfoundland business to Ontario private. It's nice to see things speeding up, but it'll be sad to see them finally finish the list.

I have a dilemma...private BC to private ontario transfer originated with seller Aug 22, transfer completed Jan 31.
Purchase price Was paid at time of sale and before transfer was started.

As of Feb 6, which was the last day of contact from the seller this week, it hadn't been shipped out yet.
No reasons for not doing so, just haven't got to it yet.

Is there a time line or a period that someone can legally be in possession of a restricted firearm that they no longer own?

I dont want to be a #### and have this take longer than it should.

Sorry if this is the wrong place for this post but since we have all been waiting months for our transfers...this is ridiculous.

TIA

YES!!! My final notice arrived via email - what a brutal process.

NS store to Ontario private - August 27 approved today February 10 #60153xx

Best of luck to the rest of you, and a HUGE THANK YOU!! to all who helped create and maintain the transfer chart.

See you at the range.

I think the only option you have here is to call the RCMP firearm program to inquire about what the law says. I did look up the RCMP website don't have much on that. You can ask him to provide a date as to when he will ship it and if he don't respond you will have to go with the RCMP. That's why I don't like private to private. But yeah he is a #### for not sending it.
