A friend of mine is looking for 243 in 150 grain. Looks like his only choice is Federal power-shok. I found a retailer but they are out of stock on the 150 grain. Here is where the out of stock stuff is listed so I know it's a thing.

Anyways, any ideas of where to get 243 in 150 grain in Canada?

Some years ago, a friend was loading up 105 grain in his 243 Win - up until your post, that is the heaviest that I have heard of, for 243 Win. 150 grain is not listed on the Federal website for Soft Point 243 Win. Has your friend previously used 150 grain in 243 Win??

Tell him to buy a 270 . I don't think you can get that weight in a 243. and you'd lose a lot of velocity even if you could buy those in 243.

150 grain may appear availale do to the ad . However don't believe everything you see advertized . A150gr bullet is not doable in a .243 winchester as the bullet would be so long in length it would be impossible to stabalize with out some crazy amount twist in the barrel.

I have only see it from something like 58gr to 100gr. Didn't even realize it went above 100gr, especially by that much.

Thank you everyone. Maybe my friend was mistaken and wanted 115 but said 150 as they both sound the same. Even if he wanted 115 they are still hard to find.

If a 150 grain load is listed for the 243, it is an error. No such weight exists for the 243.
Heaviest "common" bullet is 105 grain, and the 100 grain is far more common. Dave.

So you saying at least 4 manufactures that have it listed are all wrong ?

Hirnady
Remington
Federal
Norma

And others , all wrong ?

At least back in the day, Speer made 105 grain bullets - not sure other makers did - used to be fairly common to be able to get where reloading stuff was sold, at least where I lived in Saskatchewan, then. I had thought they were Round Nose, but Speer #14 Manual shows them as Spitzer - Speer Part No. 1229. I have not bought centre - fire rifle factory ammo for decades, so not sure if any ammo maker loads those Speer bullets? I see Nosler lists 105 "Reduced Drag Factor" HPBT and 107 grain "Custom Competition", also HPBT bullets for 243 Win in Nosler 9 manual - but says is for "fast twist" barrels.
