Specifically looking for .284, 165gr bullets. Don't care if it's boxes of 100 or 50 I just want to try them. Any hints in the right direction are appreciated. I know all reloading components are scarce these days but there seems to be some sierra products hitting the shelves lately.

There has never been a Sierra hunting bullet that kept it's core in game
unless the velocities are somewhat sedate. [<2900 fps]
In all fairness, the Pro-Hunter is a bit better than the Game King. Dave.

I've used lots of both in 150gr 308. Used them on deer for 20 years or so. Never had a bad experience. I would not be afraid to use one on elk or moose if in a heavier caliber. I'm not looking for opinions on the bullet just looking for them.

No, the gamechanger, lots of tests done you can find online, the core separates from the jacket very easily, not a great hunting bullet.

Agreed. Buddy shot an elk with one. Left a helluva mess at entry and has stopped using them. He calls them splatterbucket bullets.

Gamechanger has only been on the market for a few years...

That was my recent experience as well. Mule buck at 60 yards with 6.5x65RWS. Complete separation, found the jacket expanded well, but the core was missing.
Having said all that, the deer dropped immediately. No movement at all. Hit him behind the left front and found jacket in opposite front leg muscle. I'd use it again, but with slower (non-magnum) velocity.

I think that the ideal impact velocity on game is 25-2700fps for a traditional bullet, seen too many high velocity bullets at close range blow up on game.

Sierra Game Changer has only been on the market since 2018. It has a heavier jacket copper wall and base, also classified as a secant bullet. This is the thickest jacketed spitzer bullet I've ever witnessed. I find it funny how people comment on Sierra bullets and don't know diddly squat. I have been conducting load data on the range, returns have been positive for great accuracy, however, haven't tried them on game, possibly this autumn.

I shot two deer with 130g gamechangers this past fall 250 and 400yds - was VERY impressed with their performance, both pass thru's with a big hole (2-3"), dropped them on the spot.
Very accurate too.
Better performance than the gameking HPs i had tried before

I shot a black bear this spring with a 6.5prc, 140gr gamechanger from, well...140 yards, He dropped like a sack of hammers from the spine shot, which nearly severed it.

Last year i shot a mule deer from 236 yards with the same round. Small hole entry side and fist sized exit hole. Drt.
