Hey all,

Just wanted to let everyone know that BCL has a 9mm Luger bolt action carbine design in the works. Possibly with proprietary 30 round magazines. I have a very trustworthy source that informed me of this.

What are your thoughts on a 9mm carbine like this?

A level action sounds terrible there’s a reason why no firearms company makes lever action 9mms other than that one company and that one was ####.

BCL gets hate a lot but I can tell you that from what I have seen they are the only innovative firearms company in Canada. Making a 20 round 223 magazine is no small task. Plus their warranty department is fantastic.

I've been thinking about something like this a long time ... yeah I'd be down for a 9 mm bolt action carbine with 30 round mags. Now is BCL's QC going to be an issue? most likely and I'm not a fan of having to send things across the country do fix things

I'd probably buy one.

I llike my Spanish Destroyer in 9mm Largo. Wish it could take a scope & be in 9mm Lugar. Wish it held more than 6 rounds in the magazine!

(As the meme goes, "shut up and take my money!")

Sure, I'd be interested if done right. Hopefully a similar design form as the BCL TRX Bronco Howitzer (folding stock that locks the action plus a 12" barrel to achieve a super short OAL)? For 9mm manual action my budget comfort would be less than $1,000 and Glock magwell (optional) would be desirable. Reliability and 1" at 50 yards would need to be high confidence. Also, a bullpup-pump variant / bullpump!

This hatred of BCL is uncalled for. They released the MRX platform a few years ago and it did have a number of issues at launch like light primer strikes and ejection. Come 6 months after release BCL had already redesigned the bolt face of the MRX to allow for more reliable ejection (dual plunger ejectors 223 variant) and they created a new firing pin and spring that works all the time when using surplus 5.56 in the rifle. Now all of the new MRX’s have this. If an owner has any issue at all BCL will replace everything free of charge and you have a life time warranty. Do people
Hate this company because it is Canadian? An American company would never fix their rifles like this for a Canadian. No way you’d be able to send that over to the USA if something happened. And BCL will be one of the only companies left that can make cool firearms after all this bull#### with C-21 is passed, people should be thankful to have them. Rant over absolutely ridiculous.

I'm not seeing the appeal of any manually operated 9mm rifle.

There are far better options for bolt and lever guns.

A semi-auto .308 is what they should be focusing on.

All the semi autos will be banned soon so i really don’t see the point in what people want. Soon we will all only be allowed manual everything

I prefer manual actions around the farm and sometimes imagine a pc9 in pump action instead. I've had a chance to try a bison in 223 that ran really well. I am 100% in for a bolt 9mm. With the new stock ideas they are working on it could be a very handy farm gun.

also I'll accept the chances of some replacement springs down the road if that's what it takes to keep a Canadian company going in this climate.

Haven't you noticed that the government been going after all semi auto rifles? Noticed that Lever PCC are increasing in popularity. After the OIC ban, I had a manual 9mm rifle made.

Soon all you will have is bolt actions unless another conservative majority happens somehow. And by the time that happens the only interesting rifles will be coming from Canadian manufacturers. Ruger and keltec are not going to care that Canada can’t get semi auto 9mms anymore doesn’t affect them. But the Canadian manufacturers will create an alternative. Yet all these Canadian gun owners do everything they can to ensure that BCL fails as a company. Really is baffling
