Hey Guys;

I just picked one of the 18" RIA TM22 rifles up from IRUNGUNS & put a Sig Sauer Romeo5 red dot on it.

I also sourced a couple 25 round mags for it at Marstar & TheGunDealer. Now I need to find time to hit the range!

What do you guys think of the TM22? What mods are folks considering?

Cheers
Jay

I love mine, changed out the but stock and waiting for Dlask on new charging handle. Already have about 3000 rounds down range. Cheers.

I have around 250 rounds down range with mine. Its been a lot of fun! I have a cheap LPVO style optic on it and a stubby foregrip. Oh and an A2 flash hider. Next things to do are a new stock, grip and eventually a reverse mock suppressor from TNA. Wish someone in Canada would import the 15rd mags. Not a fan of how the 25rd mag looks.

One of their recent posts said they would be bringing in some 15s next month.

I bought a full length handguard version and have to say that it has really impressed me so far. The trigger is really excellent for an-off-the shelf .22 plinker. It's an all metal gun so has plenty of heft. I haven't fired it outdoors yet but shooting it rested on our indoor 50 foot range produced a 5 shot dime size group using a 2 MOA Holosun red dot and Federal Bulk Pak ammo. I've put a couple hundred rounds through it so far and no FTEs or FTFs.

I did put a Yankee Hill compensator on it just to give the barrel a finished look. I'll probably add a Magpul mini VFG and maybe a set of backup irons. The charging handle is pretty skimpy so the Dlask unit is probably in the future. The other control that is REALLY tiny is the mag release button so I hope someone comes out with a larger replacement for it as well. I'm not wild about it not having a BHO (bolt closes when you remove the mag) but considering all the positives of this gun that's not a deal breaker for me.

The price of the mags still grinds my gears, however. $70 for a 25 round mag. Come on.

Hey Dlask... What about a bigger mag release button?
:agree: This for sure. These are great little guns which for plinkers are very accurate and have excellent triggers. The skinny little charging handle and the tiny mag release are the only two real negatives. I don't know why Derya didn't just make them bigger at the factory level. Probably wouldn't have added more than $10 to the final cost.

Agreed, mag release should be bigger from the factory. And they should not have 'reversed' the safety... Someone has to re-reverse it lol!

Looking forward to the DLASK charging handle!

Picked this up the other day, added a Bushnell 3-9X40. Tomorrow is range day to sight in. Will also be ordering that upgrade charging handle as soon as I get home later today !

Yes, better mag release
Yes, reverse the damn safety !

Have not dug to deeply into mine yet.

Have plans on making my own charging handle upgrade.
Safety I do not think will be hard to update either.

The safety by far is the largest issue. It is backwards and broken in my opinion.
Have yet to pull it apart yet and have a look.

Alright, I received my Dlask Extended Charging Handle and I'm super happy with it! RECOMMENDED mod for sure! :ar15:

And, I put an AR15 flash hider on mine, no issues with the threading.

P.S. Now to fix the 'upside down' safety... If anyone sees the new safeties hit the shelves, let me know!

Well Fremen (tip of the hat) finagled 3 updated Derya TM22 safeties from O'Dell Engineering (another tip of the hat) and...

IMG_7617.jpg

After looking at it myself, and realizing that there's no tutorial on youtube etc AND that I would have to remove roll pins & the safety detent all with springs etc in the trigger group, I chickened out I thought I better have my local gunsmith Gunco do it...

IMG_7619.jpg

This has corrected my rifle's safety from being UP to take it off, to DOWN like it should have always been. Who in the heck at Derya thought a counter intuitive safety was a good idea? Anyways, it's fixed now & I have one tip to anyone who gets the parts & 'fixes' the safety...

The white 'safety on' & red 'safety off' markings on the rifle are plastic plugs. You can use a dental hook or something similar & pull them out, trim the damaged end you just hooked, reverse the plug & push it back into the receiver in the proper location.

Jay, can you share this on the FB Group as well please ?

I have sent O'Dell a message as well to get more info

Thanks !

I think the way the new style safety is backwards
I shoot lefty and I am always bumping the safety up unintentionally and then the damn rifle won't fire lol
