So I’m thinking of trading my my win 94 3030 manufactured in 81 for this new marlin plus a couple hundred cash.
Is this fixable??? lol JK
I guess I’ll have to find a new stock then strip everything and refinish

ya, I don’t really want the marlin, just thinking of another project, but I need another project about as much as I need another hole in my head…
The only reason I’m even considering this is I just bought a pre 64 Model 94, so I don’t really need the other one
 
If the price is right buy. A woodturner could make boxes to fill the holes, or filler blocks, then paint both front and rear wood. Flask, tobacco and whatnot storage. Survival gear, spare parts, tools etc..

Or just get dowels of the proper dia. and DIY.
 
It’s a 3-400$ gun imho. I’d not pay more. I’d make some round purple heart cylinders and stain the stock as close to the forearm as I could. It does not look any worse to me, then some of the Mossberg stuff.
 
So here’s the plan
He offered 300 + his gun for my Winchester.
His Marlin is from last year of marlin production and has less than a box of bullets through it.
I’m thinking I could get a new stock and forend for around $400 delivered.

My 94 manufactured in 81 cost me 600 and has about 3 box’s of ammo through it.
It looks brand new as well.

I’ve really needed an pre 64, which I just purchased off the EE, so this one is expendable ( lol)

So after the dust settles, I figure I’m even,

Well maybe I’m out a hundred bucks
 
What you paid for your 94 is irrelevant. It's what it's worth now.
Sell it for $1000 to $1200 and buy a Marlin for $1000 to $1200.
Save the heartache of ever having to handle that misfit.


The guy that did that to a perfectly good rifle should be banned from owning one.

Disheartening to look at.

That option is being discussed as well , it’ll probably end up costing me another $400 for a stock and matching forend.

So that’s $800 for an excellent condition Marlin, not sure if the new stock devalues the gun ?

If I sell mine for $900 would I get a marlin in that condition for $900?? With a new matching stock set?

Not sure if I got the time for either.. lol
