While I can totally understand the frustration I would like to simply clarify that this is NOT the Governments fault. The government did not classify the the X95 MSW as a non-restricted firearm and then change their mind. The fault lies entirely with the distributor that originally classified them a standard X95 with a short barrel, when they most certainly are not. The government is simply now finding out the the importer miss classified them, and are doing what they can to correct the issue.

The government is simply now finding out the the importer miss classified them, and are doing what they can to correct the issue.
The shipments obviously had legit paperwork, if you think some bloke working the border is going to have the expertise to inspect a rifle to determine if it's capable of full auto I have some ocean front property in Sask to sell you.
No comment from North Sylva yet. They're the importer.

The lawsuit should be against the verifiers. Someone screwed up and it is not the people who bought this based on a classification.

Maybe the importer will replace with a US made compliant tavor
Just joined this website since I'm experiencing this exact issue with my Tavor.
I'm not a member of CCFR but I still called them and they said they'd have a representative get back to me, who knows, maybe they can help.
Will try to keep you guys updated on what the CCFR tell me.

I am and they called me the moment I emailed them. Basically said SOL. Similar thing happened with the CZ 858.
They just got back to me (multiple other people have called them regarding the exact same issue).
We're basically #### out of luck.
The CCFR representative said the Tavor's were fully auto but then were converted to semi-auto, but that doesn't meet the requirements in Canada apparently (why not? wtf, someone know more about this?).
The CCFR then said I have 2-3 options: 1. Handing it over to RCMP (at a financial loss) or 2. getting the gun deactivated (aka it'll become a nice house prop), or going after the importer (but I'm a second-hand buyer so I didn't deal with them directly and I'm out of luck on this one).
The CCFR said we can't even sell them (to someone abroad like in the US) because the RCMP has suspended/canceled our certificate.
I tried calling the RCMP (before 4pm) but they aren't responding to the extension listed on the emailed letter, I'm assuming you all are calling them simultaneously overloading their calls....
I'll try calling tomorrow but whoever has already called and spoken to them about available options then POST IT ON HERE ALREADY!

Before the pitch forks and torches come out keep in mind that this kind of crap has been happening since the 80s, I know, I've lived it many times over.
The importers bring these in in good faith, no one will willingly bring in something that they know will create a veritable shtstorm down the road. It happened with the MP5s, Thompsons and Uzis that were sold in the late eighties and early 90s for instance.
Importers play by the rules, jump through the hoops and occasionally get screwed because someone didn't perform due diligence.
The powers that be don't care who's fault it is because there are no provisions in the firearms act to compensate people when the Govt screws up.
You can harp on North Sylva and even try to take them down to make yourself feel better, only thing is you're shooting yourself in the foot when you make it your goal to destroy what is probably the largest distributor in Canada. See what the selection in your local gun store will look like afterwards.
Same. If you do turn it in, strip every single part down to the bare metal receiver. You could probably sell the parts for a fair bit. Especially the micro tavor forend. Americans have been dying to get them.
