How you say dis Ciappa?

Those close to the company all seem to be saying KEE-iappa

But the rest of us are saying CHEE-iappa

What say you? Have to get this worked out!

One less problem in this crazy mixed up world…

That's odd I have never actually looked at the word and only made up what I thought it was in my head lol. I always thought it was "chap - ah" but if I actually look at the word I see it is not.

I'll take a stab at it...... cheapcrappa? cha-eepo? just buy a winchester, it's easier to pronounce and will be better.

I think their lever actions are near top of the line now. I have a few recently manufactured lever actions and they are top-drawer, well manufactured. Not like the lesser-quality stuff historically in their lineup.

Pricey tho, compared to Rossi.

One of my bigest pet peeves is when people mispronounce Leupold. So many say "Leo-pold" no. It's "Lew-pold" its not even spelt Leo *eyeroll*
Same with Hornady...seems simple right? Ive heard it "hor-NA-dy" like hard NA, from a few people.

But actually, if Leupold is of German origins, shouldn't it then go by the spelling conventions of that language? The "eu" sound in german makes an oy sound. Always. If that was your last name, it would sound like Loy-polt.

Kee-appa, Fran-kee, Foo-reuh, Lap-puah, Saa-ko (not Sayko).

Chi in Italian is pronounced Kee, Voe in German is Foo and A in Finnish is an aa (like Ah!) not an ay. Tikka is not teeka, Is is Tik-Ka with tow distinct ks, for the purists.

The purists also spell the number "2" with the "w" before the "o."
