Anyone have any experience / thoughts on the differences between the Beretta 1301 Tactical and the A300 Patrol? I'm considering a SA tactical shotgun. The A300 is approx $200 less expensive.

https://youtu.be/0Jj2TC3dYAU?si=TdJHWE63huDeHfnB this video illustrates the difference well. Personally I'd go the 1301 but I also have a 1301 comp and three a400 guns that use the blink system. That said I've enjoyed shooting the a300 outlanders that I've used. I haven't shot the new a300 patrol yet the major advantages of the patrol is it comes with mounting options and the Mobil chokes are much cheaper. The 1301 is faster softer and has a more advanced barrel

We have seen many 1301 tactical shotguns here in the shop. We now have 2 of the A300 Ultimate Patrol guns here, took them apart and had a good look at them.
The 1301T is what I would buy even if it was $500.00 more than the A300.

I've never had an A300 in my hands, but I wouldn't hesitate the strongly recommend the 1301.

Mine (since gone to a Burris FF3 instead of the EOTech):

An amazing piece of technology. Will digest anything you feed it, and will do so faster than you can pull the trigger.

I got my A300 Patrol for $1130 with free shipping, and I'm kinda doubting it was sold at a loss. Do not buy these from any of these dealers that are asking for $1600 or $1450 on sale. They are NOT worth that. Full stop. Most of these dealers are charging outrageous prices, they deserve to hold onto their stock.

How much was that stock set and where did you get it? The OEM 1301 stock set is kinda crappy for a tactical style shotgun.

Front hand-guard is an Aridus Industries unit, and the butt is a Magpul SGA (Mossburg 590) with an Aridus Industries adapter. I bought them all at the peak of scarcity back in early 2022. Some came from SJ Hardware, (butt and adaptor) and the hand guard was off of #######. Not sure what the prices are like now, but call it ~$500ish all in.

FWIW, I liked the operating system on this 1301 enough that I bought an A400 Extreme for duck hunting. It's basically the same under the hood, only stretched out to 3.5".

The more I look into each gun and what is needed to upgrade, the more I keep changing my mind.

The 1301 is the better base gun but Beretta has hobbled it with crappy furniture. The furniture upgrade plus magazine extension adds up to at least $800 on top of the more expensive gun.

The A300 is not quite as good a basic gun but comes with much better furniture that saves considerable money on top of the gun that costs less to start with.

There must be a zillion A300 actions out there, as they're pretty popular in the duck hunting line as well, so you're not exactly giving up anything when it comes to reliability.

The 1301 furniture is hearty enough and the checkering is decently grippy, just no ability for modification (aside from LOP) MLOC or anything else, which blows considering it's supposed to be "Tactical".

For the cost of the furniture upgrade, a red dot can be installed on the A300. Thats a pretty nice tradeoff.

I imagine they probably sold out of some stuff. But yeah I see what you mean. Not a single Beretta firearm listed for sale currently. They did just have their big boxing day sale, but I have a hard time believing every single one sold so maybe they are doing inventory or something? Seems odd.

They have no Beretta at all, which suggests they don't sell Beretta. Maybe they found a used one or they happened upon a single example? That could explain the price way below what anyone else is asking. I checked every store I could find online and not one had it listed for less than $1400.

They had a Boxing Day sale and it was being sold for that price and it got sold out fast.
For some reason they had it on sale for 30% odd.

It was not used shotgun it was brand new.
