Hey CGN,

Had a chance at the Base Wainwright Hunt and was extremely interesting without any snow. I seen people taking trucks where I probably wouldn't even walk.

Anyway, here is a short video rant I did as I had a guy with a back up alarm and straight pipes trying to come down a hill.

Sorry seems CGN won't let short videos embed. There is the link.

Update: got the low down on how to get shorts embedded. Don't let the video button fool you there needs to be a work around

Contractor? Company truck? Probably a flat deck? Company pays for the diesel. Need a backup alarm to work on many oil sites. Pretty standard kit on a lot of vehicles in the area. A lot of the younger guys like their loud mufflers. (Personally I like a nice quiet vehicle, but that's just me. To each their own.)

Not sure why you'd be ranting about it. He's basically pushing bush for you. If you're around the area very long you learn to use guys like that to your advantage.

Could be worst. Could he the guy that stopped on the road and shot a deer in a populated area with houses and cars in the muzzle dirrection.

+1 to all of this.

Depends where and when. Based on the lighting my guess is mid-morning when deer have already moved from feeding to bedding. That’s probably why he’s leaving. So he’s likely only spooking bedded deer and it’s not much loss to you.

Well baker42 I’m with you!
I don’t need anyone pushing bush for me lol! You guys are funny, happy to see people destroying land for the fun of it, way to go!!
Anyway, too each there own I guess, but I rather quite and no dumb ass around!

Hunted Camp Wainwright many times and truck hunters were hilarious. One guy says to me I drove 250 Kms yesterday and never seen one deer. My last time there was done at noon the fist day . Buddy was in Range Patrol and I knew which area they opened for the first time and went there first thing . Got two mule bucks and there wasn't an ounce of fat on them .

Had a guy blast through my moose spot last year in a side by side with Lay Down Sally going full volume on the stereo. Bastard drove right past my quad at the head of a no-exit trail to get there.

So many morons out in the bush.

Hunted there a few times. Couple guys I know used horses to get in further, they did quite well. We always managed to get our deer on foot, somehow. - dan

Same here. Its pretty much how people hunt in saskatchewan.

We saw a few deer walking through bush. I know you wouldn't see what we did from a vehicle.

My hunting experience of over 50 yrs says the exact opposite of what you say. I've still hunted , bush push hunts, blind sits and just plain walk & stock as well as drove thousands of pick-up miles in a truck...and if I'm hungry, seriously needing meat...a pick-up seat is where you will find me every time.
Now, I relize road or any vehicle hunting doesnt fit everybodies sense & sensibilities and if you want to "get one with nature" for your hunting experience I get that but I buy my license the same as you do and will hunt the way I get the best results if it is a meat need.

Okay,

Well around here. Thats how it is. Tons of trucks driving all over the place.

We were the only two on foot. The whole time we were the only two pushing Bush in the valley by us.

Trucks circled it from the top almost daily in the am. Not one person on foot.

To each their own I guess ; but not really sure how a hunter can be aware of their surroundings , and deer movement , from the cab of a truck ......but then again , I have never tried hunting from a vehicle , so I don't really know ?

Truck hunting is like trolling in a lake but on land, pretty boring and unrewarding regardless of success. Take away their wheels and that lots back to being basket weavers and berrypickers. I don’t know how well browning and vortex stickers adhere to baskets, might be an issue
