3 Gun Match ! Southern Ont.!

I have seen.

M1 Carbines.
M1 Garands.
Enfields
Mauser K98 (ended up only finishing one stage with a broken extractor).
Ruger P40
Mech Techs
Storms
ARs .224( dominate, specially now with 10 rd mags)
ARs Pistol caliber
Winchester 94
SKS
VZ58/858
M14/M305

If it goes bang........there is a place for it.

Oh with regard to this match. What is the maximum range? You mention a "sniper" stage. So is this really a 4 gun match?

Max range 200 yds
The sniper section is part of the assault rifle course of fire, using what you used, and is an untimed bonus stage (your time stops when you reach it after you fire the first shot). Remaining shots are untimed .Since time is added for your misses and tactical goofs, the sniper section allows 5 seconds {tentative bonus calculation} per hit deducted off your total stage time. The sniper part of it will be very challenging - I have seen only a few who do well at that part of it . Those who do well usually do very well.
:sniper: :runaway:

3 Gun Scheutzenfest !

One more thing - it would help if you are proficient in prone, sitting, kneeling, standing and sling shooting as all positions WILL be used for non physically handicapped shooters (sling is an optional advantage for those who know how to rig and use it) - Thanks to Jeff Cooper - master hoplophile R.I.P.

Care to elaborate on "Silverdale" to those of us who are drooling for a three gun but don't know where "Silverdale" is?

EDIT* OK..I need to read the WHOLE thread :D

Website isn't coming up for me though....and I ca't find that addy on Google maps.

Basically it's off of Hwy 20, just outside of Fonthill. If you were coming from the QEW South, you would exit at Vineland, and continues for about 20mins.There is a concession rd off Victoria(can't remember it right now, more to follow) it takes you right to there doorstep. Email me for a POC.

Thanks Mildot!

And I promise - no surprise black powder explosions behind the A zone of a swinging hostage. :D

Awwwww. Now that sounds like FUN! :D

The exit off off Victoria is Concession 4 Rd. Keep an eye out for a house set back about 100m from the road on the rgt, if you are heading south on Victoria, the house is a light blue, can't miss it. Here is a Mapquest link.
You will see that the Con 4 rd is a "dead end" Silverdale is the first club on the left, there are 2 clubs on that road.

Important Suggestion!

PRE REGISTER by sending in registration fee to Silverdale !
We will cut off the number of shooters depending on the number of volunteers we get to run the match and the amount of daylight available. If you plan to show up day of to plonk your sheckels down you may end up a spectator.
No preference to Silverdale members - first paid first served. If you want to shoot as a squad register as such and the squad can pick its shooting order for advantage or convenience depending on where in the registration sequence you are. :welcome:

The silverdale web site

The 31 may match is posted on the web site as an assault rifle match, but has morphed into a 3 gun as described in this thread. Working on changing the web site info  :D

3 Gun Scheutzenfest !

Since I am on CGN the match boss has asked me to ask for volunteers to help run it - both members and non. Non members dont have to buy a day pass , get bbq , and can sign up to shoot the match (earliest payment gets earliest shooting sequence pick, as for all shooters) - Both trained R O 's and workin stiffs needed . If you intend to just watch - patch some targets and save yerself a day pass fee. ;)
Forgot to mention - free camping available for helpers - some of us are gonna camp out fri. night, and have a boozenfest around the fire sat night. :puke: :dancingbanana:

I shot (after I ROd(for those who wonder about such things)) the Provincials there one year. I thought then it was an ideal venue for our any run and gun type competition. I understand it has improved over the years since. As my shotgun is a front stuffer and my rifle SS BPCR, I will only sign up for pistol.

You wont recognize the place - its now 100 acres , the extra 50 for paintball etc,. A new quonset , a gun store , new gate , new berms , new roofs , new safety rules , larger pistol range, new archery range and stand, running clays as well as trap , etc. And oh yea - u can still shoot ANYTHING as long as it is not on wheels ! :welcome:
