Hey folks, new here but far from new to shooting. Im currently looking for a bit of help on tracking down a new or used bolt for a M77 Mark 2 .223 I'm told the mark 3 will work too but I'm having zero luck tracking one down. Anyone happen to have an idea on where to look?? Any info or ideas are muchly appreciated!!

Ruger bolts and receivers are machined together for perfect fit. The Gravel Agency in Quebec is Ruger's warranty contractor. Contact them directly. www.gravelagency.com
No such thing as a Mark III, the version after the Mark II is the Hawkeye. Gravel can get the part for you, but they will not ship the part to you, they will require you to send your rifle to them to ensure proper fitment and headspacing.

Yep. I'm surprised that they're selling as many as they are. One of my boys found a new one in the bush leaning against a fence. It looked like it wasn't there that long. It cleaned up decently,but,damn,it was rough. He advertised and called around to area camps. No one knew anything about it which made him think that someone ditched it and did an insurance claim. He still has it. I have three deadly accurate M77's that are Ruger classics I wouldn't sell for any amount. Why Ruger built the cheap copy Americans is beyond me.

Might take em a little while, but Ruger really stands behind their stuff, and likely not be tough on the wallet.
Agree with Hoyt, about budget guns. Race to the bottom, and I wouldn't buy ANYONE'S budget bolt gun. A bit off topic, but my advice is bite the bullet for a regular line up rifle, or to save some cash find one used.
It's more of a sentimental thing with this ugly ol gun, was passed down from my grandfather when he passed, was also the gun I shot my first yote with back in the day... have plenty of better rifles in my safes but still would like to have this back in shooting condition.
What did you do to fix them? Reason I ask is I have a new Ruger American 17HMR that gets around 2 fail to fires out of 10 shots with 2 different brands of ammo. A non fired round will not extract as it hasn’t jumped back into the extractor leaving me to think the headspace is too large.
I’ve sent it back to Gravel Agencies for them to sort out as it’s not worth keeping if it’s not reliable.
That’s a crazy coincidence! Your right it was boat paddle and it looked beat.
