New Target Rifle

I already have a 6BR, so I decided to build a 6GT. Between these two, I can load for various speeds with a wide variety of components. I figure I can make something work, regardless of what I can get my hands on.

What do you want to do with this?

I was spotting for a friend, his rifle in this calibre.
I believe he had 14 consecutive hits at 1050 yards.
Steel gong.

I have owned 4 now, and every one was a fantastic shooter. The last time I shot the latest one I put 5 into an inch and 300 meters, then shot two different 5 shot groups at 500 Meters that were right at 1/2 MOA .
This rifle is going to be used by the new owner in a short range 300 and 500 Fclass match next weekend. Sadly, I won't be able to attend it as I have commitments out of town. I may put another one together

Well, on paper at least, that it does look like an improvement over the dasher. Hmm. Maybe I'll throw one of those in the mix too. - dan

Yea Now you understand my dilemma ? I Would go Dasher if I was shooting only to 500 metres but I want to shoot out to 1000 so I want a bit more FPS . RJ

I still like the straight 6MMBr.

THIS. I bought a Hunter Benchrest rifle in a 6BR wildcat built by Henry Rempel. Used it like that for many years but as the cases were cut down 250 Savage brass, eventually I ran out of brass. I set the barrel back and rechambered to 6BR and have never looked back. Cases are easy to get along with reloading dies. 6BR is a great cartridge.

6BR is such an adaptable case.

I use mine mostly as an intermediate range gopher rifle, with 70gr Ballistic Tips. It is super fun to shoot gophers with. I've used that bullet out to 700yds on steel.

Pretty sure the regular old 6BR holds some records at 1000yds.
