I don't want to gouge so I'm looking for some current rates of Federal Premium Gold Medal Large Rifle Match Primers #210M. I've got a few thousand I'm thinking about selling.

Thanks!

$600/thou

Only on a very good day with a desperate buyer.

There were several 1K boxes at the recent Chilliwack two day show for $500 and they were all still there when the show closed on Sunday.

There seems to be a line drawn at $400-$450

I am starting to see primers in my local GS. And not stupidly priced either. Only issue is they are rationing, 2 trays per visit. I just visit more often! lol!
I think those guys holding on for the mega prices might be stuck with them for a while -

Hope so...

At a Shooters Choice they are $160/1000, they have several hundred bricks in stock.

I picked up a brick of CCI BR-4 SPP last fall @ ~120/brick, their up to $160/brick and their site says they have over 1000 bricks in stock.

Man, you got my hopes up for a minute. But they don't have 210m (Large Rifle Match, whichnis what the thread is about) on the site. The $160/1000 is for the 205m (Small Rifle Match). I haven't seen LR primers in stock anywhere, let alone close to that price

Sell em now. Sporting Goods Guy told me everything is coming in except primers. But that is sure to follow.

I don't know, dealers I talked to say you might as well write off 2023. Some are quite willing to buy or trade for them at the outlandish prices. They're aren't doing it to lose money.

Well, I bought some Hodgdon powder for the same price as 3 years ago, IMR is up ~40% as of Friday. Lots of bullets on the shelf. Guy told me everything is coming in now except primers. And that stuff is basically useless without primers, hence the high price dealers are willing to pay.

Primers have been the weak point, probably since the day the percussion cap was invented. But they will follow the rest. The cure for high prices is high prices as they say.

Sell or hold.

Its been so long since since I've bought powder that I don't know if the prices were good or bad 3 years ago. The vast majority of mine was purchased at 20 bucks or so per pound, and I'm sure my kids will be shooting some it after I'm gone.

I've watched supplies come and go, and been fortunate enough that I've seldom had to buy anything at the peaks. I did take the opportunity to cash out out on primers and stock up on enough shotshells to make my truck springs sag a little; and it was sort of fun pushing a shopping cart along the bullet aisle and sort of sweeping bullets into it with my arm. ;)

Wild. Before they pinched it off I was grabbing 210M's from crappy tire for the same price as 210's. Don't ask, don't tell just buy what you can kinda deal. They're worth more to me than the crazy prices being paid. Like all things they will come back in stock eventually.
