Discount hunting gear sites.

Not online but Walmart, Canadian Tire, Peavey Mart usually have a good selection this time of year.
I got a Remington branded insulated pants and jacket for $135.

Online Cabelas own brand has some great sale pricing and Amazon has off inexpensive off brand clothing as well, just be prepared to return it the first time as sizing is all over tge place and generally runs 2 sizes small, IE: XL fits like medium.

Also check the EE section here on this site, often you'll find prices not higher than the store and downright bargains at times.

What size are you ?

If money's tight, maybe I can help.

I've got some Beretta insulated pants you can have for the cost of shipping and some tick repellent pants as well.

the majority of my hunting clothing and packs were bought off ebay some years ago.
I do buy the odd thing from the known stores but don't overlook ebay.
I found that January through March , lots of new unsold hunting gear gets snapped up by resellers and great deals can be had.
The last bibs I bought..... which lasted me a solid 20 years though they are needing replacing now, were 50bucks. Anything comparable in the stores is over 200.
It has been a while since I shopped ebay for hunting gear and clothes but I would still go there before shopping at cabelas or canadian tire ect.

The cabelas instinct line is actually pretty good for the money.

Another thing to consider is military surplus clothing. Sometimes you can buy new unissued stuff for cheap.

So, this is from the perspective of cheap-ass, backpacking, shooting, technical gear junkie...

For deals, you just gotta let go of the camo everything and wear more traditional colors.

Kijiji - I have Kuiu and Eberlestock packs that I have gotten for about 30% new price in excellent shape. You can get an old Osprey pack for $150 that will be better than any hunting pack under $500, including my Eberlestock, lol.

Value Village, Goodwill, etc... - Brands that I have gotten from here include: North Face, Mountain Hardware, MEC, Kuiu, Arcteryx, Helley Hansen, Carhaart, and even found a pair of First Light pants. This might sound like you will be dressed like a garage sale, but it is anything but. I only hunt in greens, beiges, browns, camo, black, etc... all technical clothing that is suited for multi-day backpacking type hunting.

Any non-hunting backpacking store like Atmosphere, MEC, Altitude Sports, etc... These places all have significant sales that you do not see very often from hunting retailers offering brands like Sitka, Kuiu, First Light, etc...

Costco - Merino socks... they also sometimes have Merino blend undershirts that are awesome.

With all the money you save... you can buy more rifles and better scopes!!!

My camo 3 piece jacket is from cabelas, my insulated camo rain pants are Walmart, my lightweight camo rain pants are cabelas, gloves are Walmart and Cabelas... pretty much the only stuff that didn't come from Walmart or Cabelas is my beige cargo pants and my socks, they're from Costco. The pants are BC clothing brand, built in belt so it doesn't interfere with my pack belt, made of nylon so they're fast drying and weigh very little. I really like them, even though they're not camo.

Basically everything I've bought from Walmart or Cabelas has been on sale, more often than not on end of season sales of 50% off or better.

It's no Sitka or Kuiu, but at 20% the cost I can live with that.

I've tried the thrift store route but never found anything worth buying other than old man sweaters (wool/cashmere with some real ###y patterns lol), but my wife shrinks those in the wash on me...

Walmart carries (or used to carry) Remington camo (Silvecore pointed me to this one)
what I like about it is that it is pretty quiet
when I'm trying hunting clothing I so some running moves and if I hear too much of a rubbing noise I move along

First year hunter and shooter here. With the costs of all the shooting gear then adding hunting gear on top I was into Canadian Tire about once a week to see when they had their clearance sales before moving this seasons hunting gear into stock. I ended up with reversible blaze/realtree bibs and jacket for $100/each vs the $200 each reg. I searched facebook marketplace but nothing within a reasonable distance in my size to make the savings of buying new worth it. slowly piecing together the rest. Good Luck

I thought I finally found something worthwhile at the thrift store the other day. Columbia brand down puffer coat for like $20. It was clearly well used but still might have been worth grabbing... That is, until I turned it around and saw the back had 12" square of silver tape covering what I can only assume is a very large hole!

You win again Value Village... But I'll be back!

ya, no rubbing noise and no velcro...... the two highest criteria on my list.

All my hunting clothing is a mix of military surplus jackets and rain gear, merino wool sweaters, socks and underlayers. Or lightweight hiking pants that dry fast, I wear a lot of solid earth tones or plaid.

Camo jackets are military surplus, I can’t stand real tree or any hunter specific camo. Don’t forget that a ton of game was taken in jeans and a plaid wool Mackinaw coat or Stanfield and carhartt’s, probably while smoking a dart. You don’t need anything too fancy, play the wind and learn to quietly sit or stalk.

Being in the woods and harsh weather as much as I have I have come to the conclusion it's best to sacrifice expenditures elsewhere and buy quality clothing. Hunting is not a cheap sport anymore. With the cost of tags and fuel and licenses and guns and ammo and trucks and ATVs and everything else. Proper quality clothing lets you hunt longer and harder while keeping you warm/cool and dry.
Cheap gear wares out fast and must be replaced. Quality gear lasts for many seasons
