What are your thoughts on this rare model? Is there any demand for the stainless steel version and if you happen to have one how does it shoot compared to the standard blued ones?

Hi Mike, I have one that I bought used off the EE a few years ago. It's a 2017 mfg year in the Lux stock and I've got ca 1850-ish rounds I've fired, plus whatever the Original owner had (I'm guessing 1000-ish since he had it about 2-years). I don't have blue 455 and my 457 is a VMTR so not a fair comparison. Anyway, I'm not too consistent and there are no competitors in my area either. With my 455 and 'good ammo' like SK-RM I get groups at 50 of 0.4xx to 0.8xx and the VMTR does a bit better. However I only shoot outdoors and 'calm days' are rare here on the E-coast -the 'tail' of everybody's weather. As for 'demand', I haven't seen any others on EE or GP since I bought mine sooo . . . ? And no one has offered to buy mine, tho my club/range isn't very active. Mostly I'm at the range alone and I haven't tried to sell mine. It's been admired but no offers  . I have a Covenant C4 6-24x50 FFP mounted on Vortex Pro Low rings and it came with a 0*-SS rail, as it was sold by the dealer. With the rail it's still a bit high for a good cheek-weld, but it's sure a nice rifle IMO. There were some online dealers with 'old stock' listed out West - I just checked and CSC in Calgary still lists one.
PS - I also have a Savage B22FV with the same scope setup and it shoots about as well. I am consistent in that respect. HA !

I can’t seem to find the rifle you’re referring to on the CSC website. What is their asking price? Is it a stainless steel model?

I happen to have a cz 455 stainless steel 17hmr that looks like brand new. On the fence about selling it. Not sure yet. First one I’ve ever seen anyway. It is pretty cool tho. At first I was wondering if the barrel and action was only coated in something silver. Nope. It’s legit stainless steel both the barrel and action. I already have a 457 17hmr so this one may be for sale yet. Would be a very nice all weather gun !

Mike - Here's that rifle, the exact one I have. Price has gone down from when it was originally posted at 'Reliable' for $799. http s://store.theshootingcentre.com/cz-455-stainless-rimfire-rifle/
I searched online before and couldn't find anywhere else selling them back in 2022. I think it was an European model that some stores just imported a few of. And no mention of them on any forums, I'm on several here and USA. No listing for SS in .17 either, yours might be an Unicorn in Canada :)

I just searched online and siwash sports has one in 22lr and there's a used 22Mag in MB. IN the USA they sell SS in black plastic and the UK have them in a 'soft touch' stock, too.
The one like mine in MB is listed for $800 with a nikon scope ( both discontinued items ;-P ).

Don't know what the market for your would be, considering the cost of ammo these days.

I have a stainless steel CZ 455 in 22 mag and was out shooting it today. With 30 grain Hornady and CCI TNT ammo it will shoot consistently under 1" at 100 meters. As the rifle gets more rounds down the barrel the accuracy has improved over time. Mine has a synthetic soft touch stock and I bought it from the local Canadian Tire. I have done nothing to the rifle other than mount a scope.

That’s exactly what mine looks like just in 17hmr. I tried it at 100 yards and seems to shoot pretty decent. Some groups under an inch and one 5 shot group less than a dime. Seems like a nice all weather rifle. I wouldn’t mind trading my stock for a synthetic one since it’s an all weather type of rifle

Yeah that’s really good accuracy for that caliber

And Mike, you might consider selling the one you 'don't like most' and getting a barrel for the other - have 2 calibers like 22LR for the lower cost of ammo ?

I already have a cz 457 22lr, cz 452 22 lr and now I have 2 cz 17 hmrs plus an extra lighter profile 22lr barrel for the cz 457 17hmr. One of them needs to be sold off for sure
