Hello everyone,

I recently picked up a 6mm BR rifle and it shoots excellently with the 90 grain Lapua Scenar. I also have some Berger 105 grain and 108 grain to test out. Looking for some recipes that have worked well for you on this.

Rifle is 1-8 twist with .272 neck, so should be okay for these bullets.

I have mainly been using N150 (tried H4350, but too slow, might work in a dasher) with 108elite hunters at around 2650 and 105s at 2790fps if I am not mistaken. went up to 2900 and saw signs of pressure. This is a 6BRA with a 24" barrel.

The 105's at 2790 gave me a 15shot SD of 7.7
The one 108's I recorded were 14shots at 2650 with an SD of 8.

I can send you the Berger quickload sheet they send me, with starting and max charges for a bunch of powders, and COAL

30grains of Varget with Berger 105s, 26” 1:7.5 twist IBI barrel. SD of 4.2 at 2840fps over a small sample of 14 shots. It was good enough for repeated hits at 1000m on an 18” target.

I've had good results with both Varget and H322.

My rifle was built for benchrest so it has a slow twist barrel and won't stabilize anything heavier/longer than 87gr VMax. I've been using 70gr Ballistic Tips in it for years with very good results. It is fantastic for gophers. It'd also be great for coyotes or wolves if any ever came into my sights.

I see on the 6mm BR site (accurate arms) I think, there are some recommendations for VV powders. Has anyone had success with these?
I just picked up N140 but havent tried it yet.

N140 is right beside Varget on the burn chart and from the feedback I have seen is every bit as capable.

I think most people are shooting 105s with somewhere between 29.0 and 30 grains of varget. This seems to be a common recipe amongst the 6br crowd.

I like the 109 berger hybrid with 29.0 of varget going a bit over 2700 with a 24” tube. I think the next barrel will be a brx or dasher with a 7.5” twist and slightly longer barrel, maybe 25” or 26”.

I am at 30.4gr of Varget with a 28" barrel on my 6BR and it runs at ~2850 FPS.

Why not 28 “ Buster ? RJ

With berger 105gr, 30gr of varget is too much in my barrel. I get ejector marks.
My max is 29.5gr with .020 jump. I get 2770fps in a 26" barrel.
Go up in powder charge carefully.
