This can be a thread to talk about this cartridge and rifles chambered in said cartridge. Feel free to discuss whats working for you and your 25 Creed. Please feel free to discuss any road blocks you run into with your 25 Creedmoor. If you dont have one feel free ask any and all questions. I did a quick search on the forum for 25 Creedmoor and could'nt find a thread dedicated to the cartridge so I decided to start this thread. Please feel free to post pictures of your rifles and any amazing groups or targets. Carbon Front.jpg

I am currently doing load development for the above shown rifle. I am using Alpha Brass headstamped 25 Creed so I havent had to do any neck sizing of Lapua 6mm or 6.5mm Creed brass. Using IMR 4350 at this point because I have lots of that powder. I know H4350 has had excellent results and the burn rates are quite similar so I hope to find a happy load. I am using CCi 450 primers as the brass is small rifle. Bullet choice is the Berger 135 Hybrid. Initial results are encouraging, some 1/2 MOA groups. Sadly the chronograph was a bit wonky so the velocity data is suspect.

I am also considering trying some N550 as it has a burn rate similar to RL17 and that gets excellent velocity with 6.5 Creeds. If anyone has tried loads with that powder please chime in.

I am fairly new to CGN so I dont know what the policy is on posting specific load recipes.

Have a 6.5 and a 6 Creed. Both great rounds but the only problem with the 25 is the bullet selection but I think it’s starting to gain traction. Not much sense in developing loads with any Reliant powders as of recently they’re no longer selling to the general public!!

Good Points but when you see the BC of that 135 grain (G1 .650 G7 .334) and know that some guys are getting 2900 fps out of the cartridge then you might find yourself budgeting a barrel or rifle in your future. Heres a link to Berger and the bullet,

A link to Hornady as well

I have a love of 25 caliber firearms. Robert’s,25-06 and my all time favourite for the past few years the awesome 257 bee. No need for a sales pitch, I love them

^^ Ditto. My 257 wby is an absolute LASER with 115 Bergers at 3350fps.

I want to build another fast twist 25 to run the 130+ heavies out of. I like the idea of the creed but now that I see how fast my WBY is, I dont think I could do a creed. Thinking a 25 PRC or SAUM is in my future.

To the OP, nice rifle. Whats the details on the build?

I have only started playing with the 257 for the last five or so years! It’s extremely accurate and turns game off like flipping a light switch! I’ve done some playing with steel at fairly long range and it’s been very impressive!!

IMR 4350 should work just fine in the 25CM, I use it in my 6mm CM behind 112gr match burners and get 3000 fps with no pressure at all, could probably get another 50 or 60 fps but that load is so accurate I don't want to mess with., the BC is .624 and at 3000 it is flat shooting. The 25CM with 135gr .635 BC bullets at 2900 should be a dandy

Its a Curtis Valor Action with a MDT CRBN stock and Trigger tech diamond. The Barrel is a Carbon 26" 1/7 twist M24 contour from Patriot Valley Arms. Project was built by EM PRECISION.

I just dropped off a stock remington action with ks arms last week for a 7.5” twist mtu contour. I’m debating about how much freebore to get cut into it. It’s my kids gun and i was hoping he could dual purpose it for prs and f open. Get freebore cut for mag length 135 bergers? Or give it an extra .100” or so to load them long for single feeding and .100” jump from a mag? I have some 134 hornady on hand, but prophet river was out of the bergers last time i ordered so i’m going to have to find some and see how they look at mag length loaded.

Ks arms is currently a 16 week wait so I’ll be waiting a while.

I’ve shot a 25 creed for a few years and it was a good cartridge. I ran primarily 2920fps for most of the barrel and then backed down to 2880-2890fps as I had slightly heavy bolt lift. Ive recently rebarreled it and changed it around a bit to a 25x47 Lapua

My 6.5 -47 barrel is almost shot out and was thinking 🤔 of doing a 25-47 lapua but I am wondering what the real world advantages are over the straight 47 lapua and what the barrel life would be compared to the 47 lapua?

The reason I choose the 25 Creed was the 135gr berger bullets with a .650 G1 BC traveling at 2900 fps makes a very strong case for long range target or competition shooting. That puts it very close to a 6.5 PRC shooting the 153.5 but with alot less recoil.

I am fairly new to CGN are we permitted to post load information?

What is the gain in the wind over a 6.5 creedmoor? Any energy gain at distance? I’m sure the barrel life must be shorter
Shooting 1000m

Ran it through my applied ballistics. I am shooting the 139 Scenars at 2825 in my 6.5 Creed. In current conditions (temp wind pressure ect.) needs 9.43 mills of elevation and .3 mills of wind

The 25 Creed in the same conditions. 8.02 Elevation and .2 mil of wind 2900 fps and 135 Bergers

Not very fair to compare a trash-tier BC bullet like a Scenar.

The more fair comparison is to a 135gr 6.5mm A-tip or a 144gr Berger hybrid 6.5mm.

Not sure why you would call a scenar trash they are an amazing bullet and have won many of long range matches

I’m just concerned that the barrel life will be to short on the 25 creedmoor

Just a question about the fast twist barrels. Can they still shoot light varmint bullets or do they rip them apart in flight? I'm currently looking a 1/7 twist for the heaviest bullets but still feel the need for the lighter bullets for coyotes
