Unfortunately you won't get much quality for your $100.00-$200.00 price range.Primarily 50yrd range for plinking. If possible around $100-$200
For a .22 I don't think you'd go wrong with a $50-$60 Tasco or Simmons. It is just a .22 after all, you're not going to be competing in the Olympics I assume.. I think the idea of dropping a hun or 2 on a .22 scope is unrealisticHi folks, my current scope on my 10/22, lets just say... leaves a lot to be desired. It's just about the opposite of quality so I'd like to upgrade it. Any suggestions for a scope? (ideally that won't break the bank)
Thanks!
I was going to type basically the same thing.Unfortunately you won't get much quality for your $100.00-$200.00 price range.
In saying this, check out the EE here on Gunnutz and the optics section on Gun-Post. For about $250.00 you should be able to pick up a pre-owned Nikon, Weaver, Leupold, Bushnell, Burris and other scopes. I'm not a Vortex fan, but make your own decision through research on the internet. I investigate products to the enth degree before laying down my money.
Good luck!......![]()

Hun can be a slang for a hundred dollars. He said Hun* (not hon).
Glass clarity and resolution, parallax that works, turrets that track and not move under useage... to me, that is what a good scope has to do.Hi folks, my current scope on my 10/22, lets just say... leaves a lot to be desired. I just bought one so it might be wise to call and see if they actually have another in stock if you're interested. This is replacing an E1 I used on a 30-06 for over a decade before it started to have issues. Great budget scope and a steal at this price...It was an extra 40 bucks off when I checked out..all in, to my door for 180
Vortex is Chinese garbage, do not buy a Vortex!......My go too for cheap plinker rimfire scopes is the Vortex Crossfire II 2-7x32. They retail around the $200 mark. Glass is decent scopes light and small.
I have 2 of them. one rimfire model on my CZ457 and one standard on my 30-06 Savage Axis. Both have been flawless and reliable. The only complaint is the turrets are a bit mushy compared to my higher end scopes and even the cheaper Bushnell stuff.
Have had a few of the bushnell Banner 2 scopes and they punch way above there price point. But if there is an issue (one of mine failed first outing ) it is a bear to get warranty coverage It seams.
Anything the OP buys in his price range is going to be made in China.Vortex is Chinese garbage, do not buy a Vortex!......![]()
