Bingo, this is US interventionism in a more benevolent form.In another universe JT met with Donald and said we are calling an election and he refrained from tarrifs pending the actual process starting
yeah no.Ya know, Canada could join BRICS. There’s no problem fitting in another “C”. BRICCS.
LOL. Trump's threatening them too.Ya know, Canada could join BRICS. There’s no problem fitting in another “C”. BRICCS.
If this whole Canadian tire dollar Ponzi scheme comes crashing down, our new currency should be gold backed. And completely independent of the US dollar. Call,it the looney and make them out of 1/2oz 99.99 goldyeah no.
Ammo is going quick. I started a cart at a different retailer late last night, looked though it over my coffee this morning, just went back to checkout and half the items I saved were sold out alreadyGet your ammo orders in today before there is none tomorrow
You do know that The Bank of Canada owns no gold.If this whole Canadian tire dollar Ponzi scheme comes crashing down, our new currency should be gold backed. And completely independent of the US dollar. Call,it the looney and make them out of 1/2oz 99.99 gold
Yes of course. But all money needs to be based on something that isn’t affected by inflation or politics. This wouldn’t work unless the cad completely crashed but if someone were going to bring in something new, coins should be made out of silver and gold, in different purities. You would need a small denomination, call it 1\10 oz silver or whatever and go up from there. Obviously you’d still need online banking and credit cards but the bank should me required to hold the full amount of gold and silver on your behalf to reflect your account balance. In my perfect imaginary world anywaysYou do know that The Bank of Canada owns no gold.
One decade was all it took. Harper government wanted to build a pipeline to Churchill and maintain a deep water port on Hudson Bay year around with ice breakers to export oil overseasDecades of Blocking our pipelines and potential energy exports have put us in a bad situation. We can sell to the world. But have chosen to ally ourselves with our best ally.
Both countries will loose.
As a proud Albertan we have been preaching to the rest of the country for a decade about this, but no one listened. Its also frustrating when the rest of the country wants a "Team Canada" approach but Alberta would loose 185 Billion in Oil and Gas and ONT / QUE would loose 6 Billion in electricity revenue. Doesnt seem very fair , especially when you consider how the rest of the country refuses to allow pipelines.Decades of Blocking our pipelines and potential energy exports have put us in a bad situation. Last week I was upset, today this is how I’m thinking. We can do most of it here. Savage still owns a plant in Canada where they make the mkII bolt actions and model 64. It’s not much but that’s 2 models that won’t be affected by tariffs from us anyways (would savage shut down that plant if nobody in the us buys those models anymore? Or would they switch to make other models to sell in Canada and avoid tariffs). New companies like Bcl an mra are better examplesThe firearms industry has really grown in Canada, We have several companies that make good actions barrels and stocks/chassis and even triggers so a guy can avoid the the tarriff should they so choose. It’s just regretabble its come to this.
You can move more oil by existing rail than you can by pipeline anyways. Pipeline is just cheaper and safer. If nothing else was clear the last couple days, it was clear that when faced with an existential threat liberals throw environment and safety out the fuc3ing window. Freenand was talking about banning teslas today. The same one who brought in carbon tax to push people towards evAs a proud Albertan we have been preaching to the rest of the country for a decade about this, but no one listened. Honestly its hard not to sit back and say " I told you so"
Your points are well taken. Hopefully this crisis opens purposefully closed eyes to the importance of Alberta (and Sask and Nfld) energy to our country. This is going to hurt, but it's better than an actual shooting war to wake people up to what is important, and what isn't.As a proud Albertan we have been preaching to the rest of the country for a decade about this, but no one listened. build,it! And the Feds MUST pass laws enabling energy corridors through provinces. IIRC, it was Denis Codierre as mayor of Montreal who managed to block the energy east pipeline bringing AB oil to tidewater in NB? That a Mayor can block export of strategic resources is insane. One decade was all it took. Dont forget about MDT / Cadex / KS Arms just to name a few places you can buy fully Canadian.Last week I was upset, today this is how I’m thinking. We can do most of it here. Avoid the tarrifs perhaps but not the dealers jacking prices up across the boardThe firearms industry has really grown in Canada, We have several companies that make good actions barrels and stocks/chassis and even triggers so a guy can avoid the the tarriff should they so choose.
