I'm thinking I need a 20g sxs or o/u with tubes for my late season ditch adventures. Nothing to ornate but not a club either anyone have a suggestions?

I use huglu 202b sxs and a 103fe ou in 20ga. Admittedly I use the 103fe for doves and the sxs for everything else. Works great. Both guns are well made and balance and handle great. Both are well regulated and pattern well

Looked at Churchill ,CZ ,Weatherby Orion ,all seem to be in the ballpark. Stevens seems interesting but have not seen one up close. The ones that are advertised (Stevens) all have 26" barrels and I am convinced I need a 28.Could be the 28 are all sold and 26 are left?

It's strange how many ppl prefer the 28s and even 30s over the 26".
Myself I find 26" perfect.
I've seen alot of Stevens ou double fire and many stoegers do the same or not fire the bottom barrel.
The Weatherby is available in 28s as I see that as the most common length

Could be from shooting trap for so many years find the shorter barrels whippy if that makes any sense. Skeet I shoot 30 and trap 34 doubles a 32 so I guess that is my burden .Thank you on the stevens will scratch that one .

Everyone's different in their preference. I just won a trap tournament with a 21" barreled Beretta 1301 comp. I get the smoother swing of the longer heavier barrels for a more technical swing. I find the weight between my hands and shorter barrels are faster and more instinctual.
Again that's just me. I kinda like having ppl prefer longer tubes. Leaves the shorter ones on the rack at discount prices lol

Well BB went with the Weatherby Orion in 20g with a 28" barrels .The Churchill was a close second but did like that modified grip with my big paws :)

Huglu offers a good assortment of SxS shotguns at affordable prices, the triggers are a little heavy, and they aren't the lightest guns, but they seen to be reliably as hunting shotguns. I much prefer 28" barrels myself.

Picked up a Churchill 20 last week. 28", 3", choke tubes. (I think they are Remchokes).

Used but I don't think it was used, not a mark on it.

English straight stock which seems ok. Wanted a pistol grip, but could only find one with matte 24" barrels.

Shot some pheasants with it today. Should make a fun duck gun too!!!

I’ve tried em all. Spanish sxs are the nimblest flickable gun you’ll shoot imo. And they’re reasonably priced. 300- 600$ ish gets you a nice 50 year +/- old gun that comes with Soul!
Turkish guns feel like holding 2x4s compared to the Spanish guns.
Sxs are a lot of fun to shoot. All my pumps and semis sit at home now.

i haven't tried many 20 ga sxs's certainly not new production off shore guns i have handled them and do having a chunky feel
i shoot a 1927 parker on a number 0 frame not many others out there that feel better the little parker
and for a stacked bbl 20 ga a 1962 browning superposed it handles very nicely that's my 20 ga experience

The Spanish copied the British game guns well
