Yup this may or may not rock your world.
But most scopes come from factories and are rebranded accordingly.
Like Cabelas Intensity is made by vortex and is sold for half the price of a vortex.
I use Intensity's on all my rifles. 160 bucks and they work great up to medium sized calibers.

Jim at Backfire finally gets it.

the question is, what kind of support u get afterwords? vortex and bunch of other brands offer no questions asked warranties . if its the same product, why wont cabelas do the same ?

Yup and Jim addresses it. Most are full replacement warranties.
Check the paperwork though.
The point is guys re spending 2 grand on scopes that they could get for 4-600 bucks....
Everything is white labelled now.
It comes down to features and warranties
Jim talks about it.
Just trying to save guys a few bucks.

paperwork is still better than loosing all your money. i have personally dealt with vortex twice. if i didn't had that warranty i could've lost $1600

Actually "everything" isn't whiteboxed these days. Just the cheap offshore names, including the big V so many staunchly try to defend. No surprises in this post. Buy Once Cry Once has always been true, especially of scopes.

That said I have zero issues with those who feel better buying 2 or 3 cheap somethings without realizing they could have owned something of actual quality for less $$.

I use an intensity 4-16 in my 6.5x55 m96 and it’s amazing. Got it iff a friend for $100 cause he thought it was Chinese junk.

Just because they’re made in the same factory doesn’t mean they’re the same quality
there is so much to this bang on phrase. IE:

company A approaches Scope maker 1 and says I want a 3-9x40 with these specs and features at X price point.
company B approaches Scope maker 1 and says I want a 3-9x40 with the same specs but I want coated lenses and illuminated reticle.

The video points that out. But then if

Company C approaches Scope make 1 and says here is the technical data package in what we want made in our 3-9x40 - please make it and we will QA it to our standard.

each one will have different price points. and all may be very different optics
