Entry Level Deer Hunting Scopes?

What are some entry level, well priced , huntign scopes for typical deer scenerios.
so 3-9x40mm lets say

is it just me or has leupold sky rocketed in recent years price wise?

what else is good entry level?

Sightron. Burris. Bushnell. They generally improve in quality as price increases so spend what you can afford. Vortex has great warranty but you’ll probably need to use it for their entry level offerings.
Agreed leupold prices have gotten out of hand.

I still have my Bushnell Dust to Dawn scope that I purchased over a decade ago (3-9x40) still works and holds zero had this on my 223 remington, 240 Weatherby and 308 Winchester.

Burris droptine or Fullfield scopes offer great glass for the price in my experience. Far better than similarly priced Vortex scopes. They also have a lifetime unconditional warranty.

+1 for Burris Fullfield. I just bought my second 2.5-10x42 today. Going on my 9.3x62 this weekend.

Another burris vote. Started using them more as I noticed the leupold increases a few years back and started then looking for alternatives.

Now have 3 burris scopes and the new fullfield models have my attention.

The HD signature 2-10 has been awesome on a thumber ruger #1.

$120 used Bushnell Banner or $350 used Leupold VX2/freedom.

After that, start saving up.

I'd go Burris after Leupold. Their Fullfield are good scopes, with a usable reticle. - dan

What's your budget? Because "entry level" could be $300 - 1K. Or do you mean "budget friendly" aka cheap? FFP or SFP?

Here's the way I see it, and I know not everyone will agree, which is fine. You can buy 3 to 4 $300 scopes, constantly chasing down another because you aren't happy with the last one, or you can spend closer to 1K and probably find something decent.

I have had a few cheap Bushnell's over the years and only one was bad and it was bad from the get-go and cold not sight it in. The dealer who I had done a lot of business with over the years asked if I would send it to Bushnell for warranty and he paid the costs. I wasn't in any big rush so I said OK and less than two weeks later I had a new scope of better quality than I sent them. The dealer by the way would have replaced it but he said it is sometimes easier for the customer to do it. He also gave me a $20 box of ammo that he probably wrote off somehow.
However I don't know what kind of warranty service Bushnell now days has.

Absolutely Burris. The Fullfield (formerly Fullfield IV) is my favorite "budget" scope by a long shot. I'll take it over anything "old" (looking at you, Bushnell Elites) or new but overly-hyped (looking at you, VX-Freedom) that get recommended often for hunting.

W/L, since the orange buffoon started his tariff war I would recommend the brand you mentioned (I am abstaining for now though) I have not been looking for a replacement brand.
But, I was it would be a used one locally to me.
There are many choices out there and am sure some even better than the ones made/assembled in Beaverton Oregon.

Bushnell banner's are surprisingly good and clear for the money, on a couple I've had the adjustments seemed to be greater than 1/4 moa they were suppose to be, get about 3/8 moa per click but no big deal they still work fine.

I have a Burris fullfield II (Phillipines mfgr) on my main hunting rifle. It's cheap, simple and does the job. Hasn't let me down under any of the conditions I hunt under, warm, cold, wet. And, it also holds zero despite being on a light magnum rifle. I fire a couple of shots each fall at the range, it's bang on, then never lets me down during a hunt.
