Hi all, just received a new one of these little gems from Tenda today. The bolt will not go in. It's like the bolt is blocked by the sear even when the trigger is pulled fully back.I thought of reaching in under the bolt with something to further depress the sear but then the bolt wouldn't come out. Any suggestions? I haven't cleaned all the cheap oil off the internals but it seems very light.

Are you sure that the bolt has not rotated? They will often ship them like that to keep pressure off the spring. You may have to pull back on the back of the bolt and rotate it to put it in place.

If it still doesn’t work, have you check the safety? I know it sounds like a stupid question but if the safety is on it may lock your sear in place.
OK, the bolt is cocked, bolt parts are properly aligned.
You pull the trigger and start the bolt on its way in.
How far does it go? When does it stop? Is the nose of the bolt clearing the edge of the ejector piece?
You might want to remove the barreled action from the stock. See if there is a screw projecting into the bolt way.

Okay, good suggestion. If I remove the action I can access the trigger adjustment screw and also check for anything else. Maybe I can drop the sear a bit with that. Safety is not on. The bolt goes in about 1/3 , only as far as where the cutout ends behind the extractor.

And again a stupid question but you are aware that the safety is backwards- at least I think it is - ie a cz452 copy - I hope you get it fixed as I am planning on buying one
I believe it is the same bolt as the norinco j25 - I do have one of those - I believe you live in my neck of the woods. If worse comes to worse, you can try my bolt to see if it works. Will tell you if it is a problem with the bolt or with the receiver.
There are two pins that need to punch at the handguard then two machine screws and one wood screw.
Yes, you can adjust the trigger adjustment once the action is out.
I had similar problem, I would simply rotate the bolt then depress the trigger while sliding the bolt in, you need to wiggle the trigger and bolt a bit since they are both very rough machining.

Okay,a picture tells a thousand words: pic on left: sear as it would be if engaged. Picture on right, sear with trigger pulled. I looked at my TOZ, another brno knockoff and the sear disappears completely in the bolt channel when the trigger is pulled.

Yeah watched that one. The wife suggested a rubber mallet but, no..... it's got me stumped. This is my third one, never an issue.. front sight ramp is iffy also. Would have to be checked regularly for attachment.

I just took a look at mine. Your picture on the right should be how it looks when the trigger isn’t pulled. The sear on your left picture looks really high for trigger not being pulled. The sear should go all the way down when the trigger is pulled. I don’t know how to adjust the height of the sear or of it can even be adjusted. Might be time to warranty it.
Have you tried holding the trigger down when you insert the bolt? If that doesn't work, try holding the trigger down AND hold the bolt release open at the same time.
I'm not sure what action Norinco has cloned (stolen) for this model, but if it's an Anschutz clone (which it looks like), you need to pull the trigger to put the bolt in. - this is not a defect, it's the way the action was designed.

Yes I'm quite familiar with how bolt actions work and this is my third JW-15A. The issue is the sear doesn't drop far enough into the bolt channel when the trigger is pulled...sticks up 5mm. It's a Brno clone. Anyway, it's on the way back to Tenda as we speak!
