I am a big fan of the winchester 70

So let’s talk about them

I have 3 of them so far

From top to bottom

308 compact (20 inc) featherweight with a 1-6 Burris
30-06 supergrade Maple with a Leupold 3-15x44
7 mm rem XTR with a 3.5-10 Boone &Croquet

Looking for the future a Safari express in 416 or 458

I no longer have any to show but I owned a pre 64 Featherweight in 30-06 and one of the new CRF Featherweight in 308. I much preferred the new one but both were nice rifles. I wouldn’t mind a stainless M70 in 308 some day.

I’m definitely a model 70 fan. I’ve had a few pre 64 models but just like jbmauser I prefer the newer CRF models. Seems to be 7 of them in the safe currently, from 22-250 to 7mm Rem Mag. This 270 FWT is a favourite with fantastic wood.

I love M70's, my current fav is a 270 Pre 64 Featherweight that I rstored.
I'm down to 4 now , a 300 H&H pre 64, a 264 Mag pre 64, a 270 featherweight pre 64 and a CRF Super Grade in 25-06. I've had several others in the past in 264, 300 mag etc.

Have a few, hmm, 240 Gibbs, 6.5-06, 6.5x55, 7 RM, 25 WSSM, 300 WM, 270 Wby, 270 Win, and four receivers to rebarrel (two magnum bolt face, one 06 bolt face, and one 222 bolt face). Generally good rifles. - dan

My first "real" rifle (other than a Lee Enfield) was a Winchester model 70 chambered in .30-06
It's been my go to hunting rig since 1976 and it's still putting meat on the table to this day.

While I love my pre 64 Model 70's this is what I consider my M70 'holy grail'..... Post '64 M70 Featherweight in 6.5x55mm:

I do not own one at the moment, but I do like the M70.
I have owned both pre-64's and post 64's , mostly in non magnums although I did have a .264 that was a real accurate rifle.
Thd two 308 match rifles I owned were fantastic shooters as well.
My favorite stock for a factory hunting rifle is likely the post 64 Featherweight
